Evil for for Evil's sake: Stories are often just about the hero, even though alot of the time the villain is the more interesting. I prefer my antagonist with baggage or even better, a different concept of right and wrong. Evil just for evil's sake is just bad writing, and a cheep way to defeat him away is to make him/her see the light. This is why I hate what the elements of Harmony did to Nightmare Moon.

In other universes they are the only ones that care or are willing to die to save humanity, even if the fight is futile they will not die quietly even if everyone else is resolved to. There are three things about MLP stories that I can't stand: Time Turner being portrayed as the doctor (also common as dirt), Fluttershy using the stare on a sentient being and not getting called on it later, and finally Humans being evil or broken and in need of fixing (This is why I have a low opinion of most Conversion Bureau stories).
