I was just wondering if the punctuation marks (periods, commas, question marks; etc) also count in the word-count of a story. I really, really don't think that they do, but, as you can imagine, I'd much rather err on the side of caution than just blunder ahead, and come up short on the word-count if punctuation marks do count as part of the word-count.

Hey, can ANYONE tell me IF I should INCLUDE the fic's MAIN title IN the body of the Prologue (as well as the REST of the chapters), or just leave it out, and include it JUST in the Title-bar when I publish the fic itself?

Help?

Can anypony here tell me what word programs that the site accepts? I use Microsoft Works Word and Open Office, and knowing what I can use will be MOST helpful.

To wit: How long, in terms or word-count (OR PAGE-count, as the case may be) does the Prologue of a chapter fic have to be to be, well, readable and not boring? (TO the point that readers will lose interest, and won't want to read the later chapters OF said fic.)
