Okay, just a quick question for y'all...........

Can anypony here tell me what word programs that the site accepts? I use Microsoft Works Word and Open Office, and knowing what I can use will be MOST helpful.

The easiest way to enter text into the site is either through mass copy/paste or to import it straight from Google Docs. Google Docs accepts either Open_Office or Word files as direct uploads if you want to do it that way. The advantage to GDoc imports is that you don't have to go through and recode every single bold, italic or underlined piece of text, although there are still some glitches in the transfer process, so it's a good idea to run a proof-read before publishing either way.

Tl;dr - It shouldn't matter what program you choose to go with, because neither of them are supported directly. Go with what's best for you, and then choose a way to get the text over here. Good luck with everything!

Okay, thanks, Midnight. This is basically just EXACTLY what I wanted to know, and have been begging for this kind of help practically since I joined the site. So thank you SO much for this.

I'm STILL working on the first fic that I want to submit to the site, so it'll BE awhile before I get around TO submitting it, but THIS will help me a BUNCH! Open Office is my word-prog of choice, so I foresee IT and GDocs getting together just as SOON as I can FINALLY get my desktop comp out of storage and up here, and my Prologue and (currently-)completed chapters typed into it.

OR the new laptop that I'll be getting. Whichever comes first.

(WHY doesn't this site have a "roll-eyes" emotican? It sure NEEDS one!)
