I'm about to submit a very short fic. Really, really short, only about 1100 words. I was a bit surprised I made the minimum word count, to be honest; when I started out, I assumed this would end up as a blog post. But it actually qualifies as long enough, so what the hay, it's getting thrown at the submission to see what happens.

It involves Rarity. And Celestia. And Forks. What isn't to like? Basically, it was one of those ideas that gets stuck until you go ahead and write it.

You know, I think I’d only just recovered from the shock of reading “Dangerous Business” and discovering that, yes, fan fiction can actually be really, really good, when I’m sure I had the thought “You know what might be interesting? Giving Twilight wings.” I know I’m not the only one, because Smayds, of “Not My Destiny” fame, is on record as doing the exact same thing in his author’s notes, only he went ahead and wrote an actual story it only to discover there were several more fics like it.

So, yeah, I've been in a situation lately where I get a lot of time to daydream about writing the fic I want to write, but not much in the way of actual quality time to write it in. The problem is, I really only seem to write well when I get at least a few hour's free time in a big block. Dribs and drabs just doesn't cut it. So when I actually do try and sit down and write, having daydreamed about it so much, everything has to be perfect.
