This is the result of my friend and I being very bored one weekend and having nothing else to do but think.

Over seven years ago our lives as we knew them ended. It wasn't our fault, we didn't have a choice; so we ran. Since then all we've been doing is running. We've been running for so long now, we've even managed to circle the globe a few times. It's a rough life but it's not all that bad. You get to see some nice places and meet some interesting people for one. We've even picked up a little hobby to help keep ourselves entertained. Being of the curious sort, whenever we heard tale of some strange thing or place, we looked into it. Most of the time it was just another urban legend, but others..., not so much. In fact, it was one such tale that landed us where we are now. A tale of a fantastical place hidden from the world and lost to the ages. A place so filled with beauty and magic that even the gods of old still resided there. We knew a place like that was only too good to be true, but it still sounded interesting and we were curious to take a look. So we took the chance. But now, I'm wondering if we were perhaps a little to curious...

The stars will aid in her escape. These words were from the prophecy of the return of Nightmare Moon. But did anyone ever stop to think about what that meant? No, they did not. Nightmare returned, the Elements purified her, and Princess Luna was reunited with her sister. The prophecy was forgotten, as were the 'stars' that freed her. But the 'stars' weren't done yet. They still have a mission to complete, a Princess to serve. The stars are falling, but is Equestria ready for their return?

Timeline wise his story starts before the Gala.
Just so people don't get confused early on, the ponys are ponys, the human tag starts in chapter 2.
