When a unicorn ambassador to the alicorn kingdom of Aria is killed and his family massacred, the only remnant of his bloodline lies in his son Rodrigo Cadenza. With his family dead, Rodrigo retreats back to Unicornia and warns Princess Platinum of the alicorns' treachery. Platinum refuses to listen, and Cadenza vows to live a quiet life away from politics and talk of war. But Rodrigo soon begins to notice strange symbols around the city and a hooded figure that appears to be following him. Little does he know that he will become essential to a conspiracy far greater than himself...
