I've found myself in a position where more and more my characters are going to be speaking casually, as in using slang and slurred words, and I want to be consistent.
For example, I have a southern sounding character. She says "Ah" instead of "I", "mahself" instead of "myself" and "sayin'" instead of "saying." I put apostrophes in place of the "g" to indicate that's how the words are intended to be. But there's one thing that's throwing me for a loop.

This is a fundamental fact of life, and it's been bugging me. In what's been posted and what has been written but yet to be posted, I have noted that Thomas' relationships with the mares, especially Moonlight, is a little too squeaky clean. I attribute this partially to the fact that, because of my own autism, I really haven't had that many friendships and most of the time we just managed to part ways before getting on each other's nerves. Some of you might recall Chapter 58 where it was described how Sun Dancer used the minotaur as a mobile throne in a sort of hazing challenge to test his worthiness as one of Celestia's concubines.
