I wish to hereby state for the record in the first month of the 2016th year of Our Lord the following facts as they have become known based upon the letters and papers entrusted to me by a colleague of mine whose acquaintance I had made upon taking residence in a central part of these United States. From him I was able to obtain the statements provided herein which were represented by him as the written journals of members of the lost Symmes-Johnson Expedition of 1829 whose members upon finding the Inner World were unable to find their way back to the surface.
