Once upon a time, alicorns ruled the land of Equestria. They were worshiped as gods and goddesses and were the subject of admiration by all. However, as time passed the dragons grew more resentful of the alicorns' prominence and power.

So, they declared war on the alicorns.

It was a long and bloody struggle, but in the end the dragons won with the death of the last alicorn. With the fall of the alicorns, it didn't take long for the dragons to conquer the rest of the world and rule it under an iron fist.

That was 1000 years ago.

Now it is present day, and a young unicorn bard named Selene stumbles into the peaceful hamlet of Ponyville. She enchants the town with her singing of tales of a time before the dragons ruled the world and the races didn't live in fear. Her stories spark the rebellious spirit which have been repressed by the ponies since the death of the last alicorn.

Soon, Ponyville is attacked by dragons who have gained intel that the leader of a rebel movement had been staying there. Selene manages to save the town which has accepted her as one of its own, but not before many are injured and some die.

Now, Selene finds herself leading a movement she never meant to create. A movement to overthrow the dragons. A movement to show dragons that not all legends die so easily and can easily rise from the ashes to burn again.
