After reading a couple of blogs on the subject of the male population of Equestria, I got to thinking and as is my way, went off looking for a completely alternate explanation.
Don't mind me, I'm just no one in particular.
After reading a couple of blogs on the subject of the male population of Equestria, I got to thinking and as is my way, went off looking for a completely alternate explanation.
Equestria Girls takes place in a high school.
Derpy is a known student there.
This bodes ill for Dinky.
Best case scenarios are that Dinky doesn't exist yet, or is Derpy's little sister.
Worst case scenario, Derpy's not just a single mom, she's also a teen mom.
I'd call them being unrelated a middle-ground solution, because while that would mean there's no tragic backstory, it would also be breaking them up as a family.
A mare with a unique and undeniable sense of style.
A unicorn with a forceful personality.
She wants ponies everywhere to know her name and love her.
In a world of nudists, she often wears a hat and accessory.
A self-made mare, she runs her own business and puts together pieces that dazzle and amaze all who see them.
Treats her assistants pretty badly.
Very theatrical.
Once went mad with power after getting her hooves on an ancient, evil artifact.
And her mane looks fabulous.
Well, I'm still slacking on writing another chapter, but that's nothing new. I've got the bones down well enough, but I'm having trouble bringing myself to make the flesh pretty.
Anyway!
An idea I had for an alternate interpretation for Blueblood...
Blueblood the Ascetic
He's a bachelor. He doesn't care for rich, flavorful "carnival fare." For all his elegance, he only wore a collar to the most prestigious social gathering of the year.
A combination of things, mostly slacking and distractions, have kept me from writing. I'll be back, though! I swear, I just need to let these ideas simmer for a bit longer before I get another chapter out.
Shouldn't be much longer... I mean, I've nearly got all the achievements in this game by now.
Theory: Dragon growth is tied to their fire.
It's clearly not tied to age, diet, or simple hormones. Or, for that matter, simple physics. Evidence for this claim:
* Spike's growth spurt into his teen form and Godzilla form. It happened far too quickly, and where did all that mass come from?
* Spike's shrinking back to his old size. Where did the mass GO?!
* Spike has not appeared to grow at all in the last four years.
Apophenia is seeing connections in random or meaningless data.
Applied to potential pony family trees, it's just fun!
Chrysalis and Celestia & Luna.
Alicorns. Nuff said. (see also: I'm Not Saying It Was Changelings)
Snails and Fleur de Lis
A burst of magic, a flash of light, a complete absence of sound; with that, a previously empty glen suddenly had a unicorn in it, and Equestria's population went up by one.
I'm not gonna sugarcoat it - Nightmarity was a silly name.
With that as a starting point, allow me to share a number of evil alter-ego names I've come up with!
Celestia - Nightmare Noon
Chrysalis - Nightmare Cocoon
Rarity - Nightmare Swoon
Pinkie Pie - Nightmare Balloon
Rainbow Dash - Nightmare Zoom
Because, come on. We can have a theme going on here. Milk it for all its worth!
Here's the pitch: Luna was cured of Nightmare Moon when she was hit by the Elements of Harmony.
The first time.
