With the introduction of new categories, I've changed things up a bit for The Diamond Exchange (although I still feel very strongly about the need for a black comedy category) While not every chapter of it is sad, there aren't enough comedic scenes in it to place it in the Comedy category. Drama, however, is quite plentiful and I feel that enough simple interactions happen within the story to keep the Slice Of Life category tag around.

Any thoughts? Questions? Comments?

Due to the sheer awesomeness of this episode, I am ditching the chronological order that I've been using thus far as well as the bullet point method. However, I will insert dialogue excerpts in their order of utterance in the episode.

Yours truly will be cosplaying as Randolph. It won't be the highest quality cosplay because it's thrown together at the last minute on a super tight budget but I will be carrying my Diamond Tiara plush around the halls on a platter so that should bring up my character recognition by a lot of skoshes.

* Twilight's line "It's a letter from Princess Celestia" should have been spoken to Applejack rather than out loud since Applejack might not have been familiar with belchfaxing.

* Applejack: "Why, I'd give my left hind leg to go to that gala." Twilight: "Oh, well in that case, would you like to give me your leg now or wait until after the gala?"

* I think Pinkie waving her forelegs looks super cute. Is there a horse term for when horses do that?

* Before I discovered that someone on YouTube pooped it, I heard the start of "holy sh--" from Mayor Mare's voice. Also, how did Mayor Mare know that only Nightmare Moon knew where Celestia was? For all she knew, NMM could have had an accomplice.

* The royal pony sisters. That's like saying "the royal people sisters".

* I was happy to see the manticore because I knew what one was.

* The opening of this episode was reminiscent of Watership Down, one of my all time favorite movies. If you've never seen it, you're missing out. If you take my recommendation and watch it, you're welcome.

* Why are there ponies in an outdoor pen?

* I had my concerns that Spike was going to be like every other corny comic relief sidekick commonly seen throughout the '80s. Several seasons later, I enjoy him when he's written properly. Spike At Your Service is not proper Spike writing.
