Luna's Mistake

Prologue

The sun was setting, slowly but surely the light started to fade, dipping down in the distance. Luna was watching her sister lower the sun as she always did, with great power and precision Celestia managed to put the sun to rest for the night. The younger sister smiled up to her idol, best friend, her sister who smiled back. Celestia nodded to Luna. The night Princess nodded back and took to the sky, her wings unfurling and lifted her gracefully into the sky. Closing her eyes she focused her power on the one thing she had always been friends with, the moon. Her horn glowed as she began to coax it up into the sky. The connection she possessed with the moon was special, she was the only one who could hear the songs it sang with the stars, the planets and the stardust, and they understood each other perfectly. The moon began its ascend into the night sky as Luna lifted it. The glow round Luna’s horn began to fade as she had started the night. Celestia nodded and said goodnight to her sister. Luna reciprocated and took her watch over Equestria for the night.

This harmony hadn’t always been present in Equestria, Luna’s heart and soul had been taken over by the jealousy and hatred of the darkness which changed her to Nightmare Moon. She had not wanted to change like that, not really, but this is what darkness did, it fed on all of the negative emotions of a pony and grew inside, gaining power.

Before the sisters had taken up the throne of Equestria, they had to grow up, learn between right and wrong, make mistakes and correct them. Their mother and father weren’t always around to teach them, with them being higher beings in the universe, the Light and the Darkness themselves. Luna only had one role model, her sister. But even if you have the best role model in the world things can still go wrong.

This is my first My Little Pony story so please be kind to me . I chose to do a Luna story since she is my favourite Princess and yeah so enjoy!!!!
