Love at first sight

I will never forget the day I first laid eyes on my wife. It was love at first sight!

It was one of auntie Celestia's galas, and I was siting in my throne extremely bored. To make the time fly by, I decided to conjure up a fireball and play with it. I kept passing it from one hoof to the next. It was fun for a while. I eventually got bored with that and threw it at the chandelier which made the fireball bounce back at me as the chandelier swung back a bit, but then i saw a figure of great beauty.

Her coat was a perfect white shade. Her green eyes sparkled along with her dress and head band. Her mane was a perfect blend of pink and purple. She was wearing a cute little necklase with a heart. I didnt know much about her, but I knew she would be my queen one day. I will never forget the first time I heard her name, it was the name of an angel. Lost in her big beautiful green eyes i accidentally threw a fireball at the chain of the chandelier.

When I noticed the chandelier falling, I had also noticed she was directly under it. In an sudden move I flew and pushed her out of the way. I sheilded her with my wings as chandelier hit the ground and shattered. The glass hit my wings, and my back but didnt break the skin, the shards that hit me got tangled in my hair before they could even touch my skin.

"Sorry about that.", I said as I helped her up, my back and wings, along with the floor, covered in broken glass

"y..y...you saved my life.", She said, looking into my blue eyes

"It was nothing.", I said blushing,"You're very pretty, for a peasant"

"Why thank you your highness", She said with a bow

"Oh please, you dont have to do that", I said showing humility

"Okay, allow me to introduse myself, my name is Sweetie Belle", Sweetie said again looking into my blue eyes

"I am Prince Shining Armor Jr, prince of the crystal empire and a royal gaurd in-training", I said looking into her eyes, the two of us around broken glass

I moved us to a better place and we started talking, and we built a connection. She told me how she was still trying to get her cutie mark, and I told her about my power over fire which I have had since I was 3 years old. The minute a slow song played, after the glass was cleaned that is, I gave Sweetie my hoof, and we started to dance the night away. I had taken her out to the balcony when the sun started to set, we watched the sun set beyond they horizon, it was the perfect end to the perfect day. Well almost the perfect end. Then before she had to leave she gave me a kiss, as a "thank you for saving me" but also as a "i hope we can do this again" , then she was gone. That night I had told my mother and father about the fealings I had for Sweetie.

"That's good dear", My mother, Princess Cadence, said as she kissed my forehead.

"Proud of you my boy", My father, Shining Armor, said ruffling my mane.

I couldnt sleep at all that night, all I could think about was Sweetie. I swore to myself the next time I saw her I would ask her to be my marefriend. Once I promised myself that and I finally fell asleep, I was dreaming of her. The dream i had was of her being my bride one day, father helping me with ,my tux, and mother crying tears of joy, at the site of her young Colt getting married. Sweetie was dressed in an elegant wedding gown, and a small tiara
