Trip to the Nürburgring

"Alright class, today we're going to visit Nürburg" Twilight announced
"You mean Nürnberg?" asked Gallus
"No she means Nürburg. It's a small town and also there's an old castle as well" Ocellus answered
"And that's the Nürburg castle" said Apple Lauda. "You can even spot it from the Döttinger Höhe" he adds.
"What's the Döttinger Höhe?" asks Smolder.
"The Döttinger Höhe is a long straight where the GT3 cars reach speeds up to 260-280 km/h" Apple Lauda answered
"I can't wait to see that place" Silverstream said in excitement
"Yak want to see race track" said Yona.

"You know... It's a dangerous one... It's the most dangerous track in the world. The Nordschleife 20,83 kilometers long and has almost no runoff areas" said Apple Lauda
"Why do the people still race there?" asks Gallus
"F1 doesn't race there anymore since 1976 because the contract ran out. Plus, Niki Lauda crashed at Bergwerk in a quick left hander. That left hander is now called Lauda Links" said Apple Lauda
"Does anycreature understand what Austrian Pony says?" Yona asked.
Anycreature shook their heads
"Probably the section names..." said Silverstream
"And I know all of them" said Apple Lauda. "The Nordschleife is called Green Hell by Jackie Steward as well because it's so dangerous" he adds
"and that means?" asks Gallus
"one mistake and you say hello to the barriers" said Apple Lauda. "I crashed a lot in Hatzenbach in the rookie days" he adds
"that makes sense" said Ocellus
"Yak scared" said Yona
"Yona, there's no need to be scared about the Nordschleife. we won't go there at racing speeds" said Sandbar
"But Nordschleife dangerous" Yona responded
"Only at racing speeds. nothing will happen to us Yona, I promise" Sandbar said
"also there are barriers... we can be glad that we aren't in the 1950's because back then there were only hedges and trees" said Apple Lauda

"Alright, I'm opening the Portal now" said Twilight
Twilight opens the Portal. She and her students go through. But they can't go on the Nordschleife because a race is ongoing.
"OH COME ON!!!!" Apple Lauda yelled "I mean I'm glad to see race cars but I want to go on the Nordschleife" he adds "I know all of the track"
"You can tell us the section names in the meanwhile" Twilight suggests
"okay" Apple Lauda says. "but it can get weird" he adds. Then Apple Lauda starts to name all of the Sections

"Nordkehre, Hatzenbach, Hocheichen, Quiddelbacher Höhe, Flugplatz, Schwedenkreuz, Aremberg, Poststraße, Fuchsröhre, Adenauer Forst, Metzgesfeld, Kallenhard, Spiegelkurve, Miss-Hit-Miss (triple right), Wehrseifen, Breidscheid, Ex-Mühle, Lauda Links, Bergwerk, Kesselchen, Mutkurve, Klostertal, Steilstrecke, Caracciola Karussell, Hohe Acht, Hedwigshöhe, Wippermann, Eschbach, Brünnchen, Eiskurve, Pflanzgarten, Big jump, Stefan Bellof-S, Schwalbenschwanz, Mini Karussell, Galgenkopf, Döttinger Höhe, Antoniusbuche, Tiergarten, Hohenrain, T13"

everycreature applauded. Then Twilight makes an announcement. "Because we can't go on the Nordschleife, let's get into town" she suggests.
"There's an abandoned part of the Nürburgring here... it's called Südschleife" Apple Lauda says
"Südschleife? never heard of" said Silverstream
"I suggest to visit it" said Ocellus
"Yona want see it" said Yona
"alright, we're going to visit the Südschleife then..." said Twilight
"I also know all of it's sections" said Apple Lauda
"go ahead..." said Twilight
Apple Lauda started naming all of the Südschleife sections

"Südkehre, Bränkekopf, Hexenhäuschen, Aschenschlag, Seifgen, Bocksberg, Müllenbach, Rassrück, Scharfer Kopf, Gegengerade, Nordkehre"

"wait a second... isn't the Nordkehre a part of the Nordschleife?" Sandbar asks
"yes but back then when the old start finish loop existed which was called Betonschleife, the Nordschleife and the Südschleife shared the Nordkehre. You were able to turn right instead of going on the Nordschleife... pretty useful for tyre warm up" Apple Lauda said "back then, the drivers had to do a 22,83 kilometers lap to go because of the start finish loop.
the Nordschleife is the only permanent race track that has a length of at least 20 kilometers" he added
"interesting... tell us more about the Südschleife while we go over it" Twilight suggested
"Man I didn't thought that it's that interesting" Sandbar said.
"Yak agrees" said Yona
"Oh my goodness!!!" Silverstream shouted "is that a old F1 car over there?"

Apple Lauda sees it... it's the Ferrari 312 T2 from 1976/1977. the Ferrari mechanics told him to do a few laps with that car

"it's Niki's Ferrari... 180 degrees V12 500 bhp... looks like I got work to do" Apple Lauda said.
the mechanics told him to go over the Nordschleife in that car and Apple Lauda agreed
"If I don't return in 10 minutes, then you know that I crashed" Apple Lauda announced
Silverstream gets worried and hugs her Boyfriend. "please don't crash" Silverstream said with a sad voice
"don't worry... Apple Lauda good driver" Yona said
"but there's still a risk that I crash..." Apple Lauda mentioned

then Apple Lauda does his laps with the 312 T2 and waves an Austrian Flag on his outlap.

"well let's go to the Südschleife then" Twilight said

Twilight and her students go on the Südschleife but aren't satisfied because it doesn't even look like a race track
"and where's the Südschleife?" Sandbar asked
"we're already on it" Apple Lauda said "It's nowadays a public road" he adds.
"wait... if this is the Südschleife..." Twilight said and sees the first section that has remained
"that twisty corner is Bränkekopf but the corner got widened to ensure safety" Apple Lauda says "If we keep follow the road, we will get to the old Müllenbach corner" he adds
as Twilight and her Students proceed to follow the Südschleife they realize, except for Apple lauda how dangerous it was back in the past.
"if you did a mistake here you probably died here" Smolder said
"but it's a beautiful place after all" Silverstream mentioned
"True... no wonder why Apple Lauda likes the Nordschleife" said Ocellus
"I hope the people who use the road don't crash here" said Gallus
"eh, don't worry, there are speed limits" said Apple Lauda "soon we're approaching the Müllenbach corner" he adds
