The worst part is the change to the citizenship oath: not many ponies have noticed, but the oath of citizenship requires you to swear allegiance to Celestia and Luna, but they want to change it to Celestia or Luna.”
He knew he’d probably lost about a third of his audience with such an abrasive first broadcast, but he was here to make friends, not fair-weather allies, and that required being frank with what the real problem was. Most of the aristocracy would support batponies so long as it remained fashionable to do so, and that would probably get them through the referendum as long as nothing unexpected happened, but that was just the beginning. In order to really make things better, the batponies of Equestria would need real friends who were in it for the long haul and willing to stick with them when it wasn’t so fashionable.
Probably an appropriate attitude, but also dead on in his point: sometimes you need to go out and see things for yourself. Alienation is an appropriate term.
“And to the batponies of Equestria, I ask you to join with your comrades in Stalliongrad and New Mareland, and fight for true liberation! The equality your princess promises you is merely the equal right to have your labour exploited: that is the only kind of equality a bourgeois state can offer. Rise up against racism, yes, but also rise up against the landlords who gouge your money and keep you in slums, against the employer who uses you as a cog in a profit-machine, against the princesses who treat you like children. Comrades, the power to liberate you rests not in Luna’s hooves, but in yours. Seize it! Working creatures of the world, unite!”
Overall, exactly what I'd expect from a communist leader, but a nice speech regardless.
Mynx sat back, proud of her work. Whatever happened, the next few years were going to be difficult for her as a changeling living in Equestria, even if the princesses realized the threat Chrysalis posed. Acornage would almost certainly fall, and she would have to flee to a city where nopony would know her, and with the hives at war with Equestria, she didn’t know how she’d be treated. Still, she did what she could to prepare Equestria: it was the last orders she’d gotten from Thorax before VOPS had chased him into hiding, and she wouldn’t disappoint the future king.
Oh my oh my! Might just be the most important broadcast we'll see this chapter, even more so than Blueblood's.
“And now we turn to Hard Boil for the daily crime report,” came the voice of his colleague Clear Skies on the other side of the recording studio, snapping Hard Boil out of his thoughts, “So what’s the scoop, my friend, who’s bleedin’ today?”
Well damn, terrorists is not an exaggeration, huh?
“Well I first want to make it abundantly clear that I have nothing but respect for Princess Luna, and for the intention behind this campaign. But unfortunately while we’ve all been caught up in the feel-good messages or appalled at the behavior of Baltimare’s anarchists, we’ve missed a crucial detail which is who is actually running this campaign and why.”
Bullshit! As you've made explicitly clear, you are a staunch supporter of the Status Quo, care nothing for who is suffering under it, and are a major, probably-insurmountable roadblock to any meaningful social change, as are all reactionaries! Not only that, you seem slanted against democratic processes in general!
Blueblood took his leave, walking out into the rain. He hated the rain; it was unbecoming of a prince to have to get dirty. That’s what this whole thing was, he thought as he got into the Limo waiting for him: it was dirty work. Digging up secrets, plots, it was hardly his style. But still, he’d said his piece, done his part, and if Princess Luna or the ponies of Equestria had half an ounce of sense, he’d saved Equestria. He could always clean himself off later.
Oh, so that's what you're telling yourself now? Undoubtedly, it's not a good look, but the most likely explanation is likely that that sort of firey, almost revolutionary character is also the most likely to push for change, and, and here's the important part, they probably won't pull on the "literal, violent revolution" lever of change if you give them another one that works.
That cover art is amazing. Did you make it?

No it's by @MrScroup
Blueblood provides some valid points, the bat pony movement is at threat of being infiltrated by nightmarists
The name “radio free Acornage” is definitely not foreshadowing, surely this unassuming name won’t become more relevant in the future
awesome chapter mate kerep it up cant wait for the next chapter
thats actually quite an amazing detail

Anyone else needs more reasons not to vote for Sinister Serov?
