I've seen a lot of stories in which Wallflower Blush has suicidal thoughts and/or hurts herself out of anguish. I'm NOT trying to add to that pile OR glorify suicide in any way with this story. I wrote this story because I want to reach out to people who have contemplated/attempted suicide, who suffer from mental disorders, who have gone through an abusive relationship, or feel like they don't matter. People who suffer from depression always try and "put on a mask" to hide how they're really feeling... and sadly, they're good at it. People like that always say that the world would be better off without them weighing everybody down.
I don't have depression, anxiety, PTSD, etc. I've never been in an abusive relationship with anybody. And I've never thought about killing myself. But those who do feel that way... I wish I could try and help everyone who feels like that. It just stings so much when someone takes their own life. Chris Cornell, Chester Bennington, Avicii... I could go on. However, what really disgusts me is the fact that there's people that think depression is a façade that's used only for getting attention. Sometimes that's the case, but it isn't most of the time. But all that aside, I just want all of you to know that you're not alone. And killing yourself doesn't end the pain. It passes it onto others. If you suffer from depression, anxiety, or any other mental disorder, if you've been (or are) a victim of abuse, are prone to self-harm, suffer from addiction, or have contemplated suicide, DON'T hold it in! TELL SOMEONE! Tell a friend, a family member, a co-worker, anybody. But most importantly, PLEASE SEEK PROFESSIONAL HELP! And I'm saying this again because it's the honest-to-God truth: YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!! YOU ARE LOVED!!!
