Chapter 2: Familiar Faces

I roll over onto my back looking up into the bright blue sky with the sun peering through the fluffy white clouds that I had become used to flying through with Rainbow Dash.
“No I can’t be back” I mumble as I hold my hands above my face.
I move my hands away from my face smashing them into the sandy beach side that I lay on.
“NO I CAN’T BE BACK” I scream to the sky above not caring about if any is around.
“No No No!” I say tears beginning to well up in my eyes.
“Rarity…Im so sorry” I say rolling over burying my head into my arms as I began to cry
“Come on Shadow…Cheer up” says a voice I have become familiar with
“YOU!” I scream standing back up on my feet
“Oh Shadow if I couldn’t tell…I think you missed me” laughed the Shadowy figure
I lunge at the Laughing figure with a powerful punch hitting him directly in his face, knocking him into the shimmering blue water.
I run over to Phantom picking him up out of the water he
“Laugh at this” I shout pulling back for another punch planning to punch him in the face
I hit him in the face breaking his nose in the process.
“You broke my nose” laughs Phantom standing up out of the shimmering blue sea slowly being tainted by his blood
“You are one insane prick” I shout grabbing his white collar of his white shirt
“Come on kill me if it will make you feel better” laughs Phantom his face covered with his own blood, “Do it….DO IT!”
I go to Punch Phantom in the face but my arm is held back by something
“Ha” I huff turning around to see a brown haired chick holding my arm back
She was about 17 years old roughly my age she had a voluptuous body, her brown hair draped over her shoulders and she wore a butterfly pin just below her fringe. She was wearing a white school shirt with a logo from Haven City High School the high school I used to attend my entire teen life and she wore a blue shirt that appeared to be knee height.
“Alyssa” I mutter noticing that a long lost friend from high school was holding my arm back as hard as she could; it was easily noticeable that I was taking all her strength to hold back my single arm
“Karl I won’t let you hurt this man” says Alyssa still shaking from holding back my arm not having a single clue of what Phantom…Josh was capable of. He still may even poses the powers he had back in Equestria
“Let me go” I yell in anger trying to shake her of my arm
“No I won’t let go” Shouts Alyssa back at me, “The Karl I know would never hurt anyone no matter what they have done
“No he needs to Pay” I yell my patience beginning to grow thin as each second begins to pass
“No Karl just let him go” yells Alyssa holding on to my arm for dear life
I try to shake her of but she continues to hold on while I still have Phantom held in the other hand he continues to laugh as I persist to shake her off, I finally give in and throw Phantom into the sand behind us
“This your lucky day now get out of my sight before I really get pissed off and regret my decision” I say anger still blazing in my eyes
Phantom quickly scares on to he’s feet and runs away without taking the time to look back
“Now will you let my arm go” I say trying to calm back down
“Sure” smiles Alyssa as she takes her grip of my arm and turning to pick up her school bag I had just noticed lying on the sand beside us, “What was that all about?”
“Nothing you need to worry about” I smile trying to change the subject
“Ok Well Um… So Karl how was your trip” smiles Alyssa trying to break up the awkwardness
“Ugh…Trip?” I say in confusion scratching the back of my head
“Yeah your mum said that you were visiting you dad in North Beach” Says Alyssa
“Oh yeah” I say with a nervous laugh, “Yeah it was alright to see my dad again, we really didn’t do much but talk and watch UFC on TV…He was mostly working and stuff”
“At least it sounds better than the school holidays I had and you got an extra week of school” giggles Alyssa, “Oh don’t forget your bag over there”
“Ha” I say walking over to the black bag similar to the bag I had in PonyVille
I open the bag too see what was inside and notice some of the valuables I had when I went to PonyVille inside it along with massive wad of Cash.
‘Where did this come from’ I think to myself as I pull the cash out the bag
I notice that a note was tied to it which had the similar hand writing to Rarity
“Ha…when did Rarity put this in here” I mutter in shock as I proceed to open the white envelope with silver enlaced around the edges

Dear My Darling Shadow,

I know by the time you have read this letter you will be back on earth, and we possibly will never be able to see each other again…I have been preparing for this day for quite some time since our relationship has begun to evolve into something more the just friends…I do sincerely wish we were reading this letter together but if not I want to take the time to say how much I love you Shadow and I wish you the best back on earth, I have taken the privilege of giving you a little gift of what you humans call Money and I hope it will help you with any problems you may face on earth and I also am sorry for prying into your personal belongings but the jacket I have started to work on from the designs you had will be able to fit you back on earth…what am I saying you probably have noticed that by know.

I turn the letter to see if any thing was written on the other side of the letter and notice a more recently written message written on the back.

Shadow tomorrow I know you’ll probably leave without any pony knowing where you have gone abut I wish you would off considered staying here, cause im not sure if I will be able to coupe if something drastic may happen to you. We just had a new born foal for Celestia’s sake and your running of to fight some battle you didn’t help start, but over the time I have known you you will still go ahead and do it anyway just to save more life’s and scarifying your own to do so, whatever may happen tomorrow I will always be In PonyVille waiting for you cause you’re the only gentlecolt I will ever dream off, and our love will live on even through death because nothing is going to tear what we have shared apart.

I could feel the tears beginning to well open in my eyes and I could notice that a few had dropped on to the white note that Rarity had written just before my departure.
“Everything alright Karl” says Alyssa as she places a hand on my shoulder
Alyssa was always a cheerful person but also loving and caring at the same time, we have been friends for years since we were in year 2 in primary school ever one else since high school always thought that we were boyfriend and Girlfriend but we never decided to pursue that idea.
“Yeah im alright” I say wiping away the remaining tears away with the sleeve from the jacket from Rarity.
“Who’s the note from?” Says Alyssa curios all of a sudden
“A friend” a smile folding the note up and placing it in a pocket inside my jacket and then closing up the bag
“Well Karl we better get going before it gets dark” smiles Alyssa getting back to her cheery self
“Where are we going?” I say in confusion again
“You’re going to help me with my science assignment we just got today”
“What im still in your science class? I thought I changed out of that subject”
“I guess not so you’re going to be my partner in my assignment since im the only one who doesn’t have one and you’re back at school now so you are my partner” says Alyssa as she begins to walk home.
“Is that so” I smile following her to her place
“Yep” she says turning to wait for me to catch up, “Come on hurry up we don’t wanna be late…you know how crazy my mother gets when im home late”
“Yeah im right behind you” I say running to catch up
