Friendship is Rhyming

Up in the early, early mornin',
Just when the sun is dawnin', dawnin',

That is the time, the time to wake,
Just as the sunbeams break, break,

Gotta whole day, a day ahead now,
Gotta go out, go out and somehow,

Get it all done, all done before nightfall,
Plowin' and sowin' and fixin' that wall, wall,

Fittin' in a li'l, li'l time with friends,
All of it done and done before the day ends.

Kickin' at the trees, trees,
Bracin' on my knees, knees,

Apples rainin', rainin' from above there,
Into the, into the, baskets on the ground, yeah,

The apples are shiny, shiny and ripe,
Ugh, gotta switch it up, up to fix that pipe,

The pigs have gotta eat, eat,
And the sheep're gonna bleat, bleat,

And what I've gotta do, do now,
Negotiate with cows, cows,

How ya doin', brother, brother,
Checkin' books, books what a bother,

Are we in the, in the black yet?
Yeah, well good, gotta pay off that debt, debt,

Aw, look at that, the time, the time,
I gotta run, run because I'm,

Gonna be late fer, fer the meetin',
With my friends, my friends are greetin',

Some sort of, sort of royalty,
From far-off, far-off, don't ask me,

An' all of this, this before noon,
I'm gonna, gonna break down soon,

But I refuse, refuse to give,
Fer all of this is why I live, live,

Yeah, I prob'ly need a rest, rest,
'Cause I've learned it's prob'ly best, best,

Not to push, and push too far,
Or my reputation marrs, marrs,

Anyway, no time to talk, talk,
Gotta go, go faster than a walk.

Author's Note:

Not about any episode in particular. AJ is a very busy pony, so I wanted her poem to be sort of bouncy, like you gotta say it fast, fast. Gotta say that writing these is a blast, blast.

Always fun to see another poet around.
I have to admit, this one (AJ) kind of confused me in terms of the rhythm, since I couldn't get one particularly consistent meter, but the content is still good.
Twilight, though—damn. Great job on that one, and the others were great, too! I'm gonna keep my eye open for these!
