Twilight's Little Star

A Little Star is Born!

Twilight was reading one of her favorite books her mother read to her as a foal, but it wasn't for her own pleasure, but for the little one inside of her. She read in a soothing and hushed tone, so not to disturb the growing foal inside her womb.

"And after the lumber jack saved Little Red and her grandmother from inside the wolf, they all lived happily ever after", Twilight read. "My, if only you could come out as well, that sure would be great."

Twilight closed the book, set it down on the side table, and then went to rubbing her stomach in circular motions, feeling how much bigger her stomach had grown over the past few months.

"Twilight!!!!" shouted a bouncing pink pony.

"In the library Pinkie, and please lower your voice."

Pinkie Pie bounced her way into the library, making sure to be quiet as she did so.

"Hia Twilight. I brought you some delicous, homemade cupcakes freshly baked from the cakery," said Pinkie.

"Great, I've been craving your cupcakes Pinkie," she told the pink pony.

"I bet you are, you are feeding for two you know."

"Yes Pinkie, I know," she said irritated.

"My Twilight, don't need to be such a grumpy grump grump. Though, it's probably just the hormones talking," Pinkie said laughing.

Twilight sighed and said, "Sorry, I've just been so stressed lately. Taking care of Pony Ville, the foal, and myself isn't the easiest job you know."

"It's alright Twilight, no biggie. So, when was the due date again? I just can't wait until I can throw it's foal shower!"

"The doctor said April the tenth, which is a couple weeks from now, but I really don't think a party would the best idea."

Pinkie's smile had turned from right side up, to upside down.

"Why not Twi? Every foal should be able to have a foal shower, especially your foal!"

"Because everypony knows now that I slept with a stallion, and as a result, got pregnant. Nopony is going to want to celebrate a foal that was born out of wedlock," said Twilight to the disappointed Pinkie Pie.

"Okay, but what if it was only you, Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow, Flutter, Starlight, the princesses, your family, and me?" Pinkie asked Twilight hopefully.

"Hmmm.... I guess that could work. Alright, go ahead and plan a party for my foal Pinkie."

"Oh thank you Twilight, you won't regret it!"

"I sure hope so."

As Twilight started to get up from her arm chair, she suddenly felt something pour down her legs.

"Ummmm..... Pinkie......."

Pinkie turned around to see that Twilight's water had broke!

"Twilight, your water just broke!" exclaimed the horrified Pinkie Pie.

"I think I know that Pinkie!" Twilight exclaimed.

Just then, Twilight felt a contraction!

"Hmph! Oh Pinkie, the foal is coming earlier than expected!"

Pinkie Pie being the loony pony she is, picked up Twilight and put her on her back.

"Pinkie! Put me down! How are you even able to carry a pregnant mare in the first place?!?" asked Twilight panicked.

"I will not put you down Twilight! I am going to rush you straight to the hospital, no buts about it! Now breathe in and out, and let Pinkamena Diane Pie handle this!" Pinkie exclaimed.

"Fine, but you better not drop me!"

"Ha ha, silly Twilight, you know I'd never let such a thing happen."

Twilight only looked at her in nervousness, but soon the pink mare raced out of the castle and straight to the hospital.

Pinkie Pie burst through the emergency entrance of the hospital, Twilight still being carried on her back.

"Nurse, Doctor! Anypony! Twilight's in labor!" shouted the panicked, pink pony.

Two nurses and Doctor Horse made their way to the two ponies that had just arrived in peril.

"Nurse Redheart, get Princess Twilight a wheelchair and bring her to her room. Nurse Sweetheart, inform the Princess' midwife to ready her room for the birth and help her as well," instructed Doctor Horse.

"Yes Doctor!" exclaimed the two nurses in unison.

Twilight was magically lifted off Pinkie Pie's back onto the wheelchair by Dr. Horse.

"Uggggg!!!!!! The contractions are only getting worse!!!!" screamed Twilight in pain.

"Just breathe Princess. We'll make sure the birthing process runs smoothly without any complications. Remember when Mrs. Cake had her beautiful, healthy twins? Nothing went wrong just as planned when helping her give birth. Just think about holding your precious, little bundle of joy afterwards," said the doctor reassuringly.

Twilight did as she was instructed, breathing in and out, while also imagining her foal in her arms after giving birth. She calmed a little bit, but not much.

"What should I do Doc?" asked Pinkie Pie.

"Would you be willing to hold the Princess' hoof while she is in labor, and give her the support she needs?"

"Absolutely positively!"

"Great, now let's make our way to her room."

"Aah!!" screamed Twilight in agony while giving birth.

"It's alright Twi, I'm here! Your so close!" exclaimed Pinkie Pie.

Twilight nodded her head in acknowledgment.

All of a sudden the door to the room burst open revealing Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Starlight Glimmer, and Spike.

"How's the darling doing?" Rarity asked the midwife.

"She's doing great, and the head is almost out," the midwife responded.

"In a way, I'm kind of a midwife to my animals who give birth. I always provide my help while they are in labor," said Fluttershy.

"Really? Then can you give me hoof and help me get this foal out? The more the hooves, the faster this labor will be over with."

"Of course, I'd be glad to."

Fluttershy got to work, aiding the midwife in the process of Twilight's labor.

"Thank you everypony for being here, I need all the support I can get," muttered Twilight.

"No prob Twi, we ain't gonna let our friend do this all by herself," said Applejack.

"Yeah, that'd wouldn't be very loyal of us if we just bailed on you," Rainbow Dash told her.

"We all know you can do it Twilight," Starlight Glimmer said smiling.

"Oh, and do not forget those breathing strategies I taught you darling, for they can come in quite handy right now," Rarity stated.

"You're going to be a wonderful mother Twilight! You sure were to me!" exclaimed Spike.

"You won't believe the party I have in store for your little one for its zeroeth birthday! Even if there could be no shower, at least celebrate its birthday!" chimed in Pinkie Pie.

"Don't worry Twilight, everything will be alright. I'll make sure the foal is born safe and sound," explained Fluttershy.

'I sure am lucky to have such great friends. Even if I make such an immense mistake, they still are there for me,' thought Twilight in tears.

All of a sudden, the head had finally started to show.

"I see the head! You're doing good Princess, just keep pushing and breathing!" exclaimed her midwife.

"I can do this, just breathe twilight, just breathe," she said to herself, while also pushing out the foal.

An hour later, the foal had finally been born.

"It's a filly! It's a filly!" shouted Fluttershy much more louder than usual.

She held the filly in her hooves, tears streaming down her face.

"Umm.... Suger Cube, don't yah think Twi should be hold'n her foal right now?" Applejack asked Fluttershy.

"Oh, sorry!" she exclaimed.

Fluttershy handed Twilight her foal carefully.

Twilight then started to cry.

"She is so beautiful," cried Twilight in joy.

'I shall treasure you in my heart always my little star. Why, what a wonderful name. That shall be her name, Little Star,' she thought.

Then, she noticed how much the foal looked like her father, and not only that, she was an alicorn, just like her cousin Flurry Heart! She put her hoof over her mouth in surprise.

"What's the matter sugar Cube?" asked Applejack in worry.

"Sh-sh-she looks so much like her father.... and-and she's an alicorn....."

The others looked at the baby filly for a moment. That's when it hit them. The foal truly did look like her father, and had both a horn and wings!

"Everypony is going to be able to figure out who I slept with! She has the colors of her father!" cried Twilight in tears, but in worry instead of joy.

The baby filly had an orange body, blue-purple eyes, and a blue mane and tail with lavender highlights.

"Oh darling, maybe.... maybe you should just come out with the truth and get it over with," suggested Rarity.

"What!?! I could never do such a thing to him! I-I-I'll just have to keep her locked up in the castle. I can't have nopony figuring out who he is!" exclaimed the stressed out Twilight.

"Well, that's definitely not the answer Twilight. Your child would never learn friendship like you did. Would you take away her experience of having friends from her?" asked Starlight Glimmer.

"Hmm.... I guess you're right Starlight, but I don't know what else to do!"

"What if your magic could disguise her true colors?" asked Fluttershy.

Everypony looked at her as if she were a genius.

"What? Was it really that good of an idea?" she asked her friends.

"Um, yeah it was! It's a totally awesome idea!" exclaimed Rainbow Dash.

"Fluttershy, you are an absolute genius!" exclaimed Twilight.

"Then what should her disguise be?" asked Spike.

"This is where I come in! I am an expertise when it comes to color schemes!" exclaimed Rarity.

"Alright Rarity, what do you suggest?" Twilight asked.

"I'd say for her mane and tail, that the lavender highlights should stay the same, but change the main color to be a sunflower yellow. Her body color could be either lavender or the sunflower yellow, whatever you decide. I'd suggest her eyes be the opposite color of what you choose for the body."

"I would rather her look as much like me as possible, so nopony mistakes who the father could be."

Twilight started to perform a disguise spell on her foal. She lifted the babe with her magic, now disguising her true colors. After the spell was complete, she set the little one back in her arms.

The foal had a lavender body, sunflower yellow eyes, and the same color yellow mane and tail with the same lavender highlights she was born with.

"I think it's best she only wears this disguise in public, while in the castle her disguise is lifted," said Twilight.

"I agree darling, the sweet heart should be able to see what she really looks like," said Rarity.

"Oh Twilight, what is her name?" asked Pinkie Pie.

"I thought about it, and I decided to name her Little Star, for she is like my little star guiding me back on the right path."

"Great name Twilight, totally suits her. I just can't wait until she's old enough to fly with me!" exclaimed Rainbow Dash.

"Well, you'll just have to wait for a while Rainbow. She won't be able to fly the heights you are able to fly for months," explained Twilight.

"Yeah, I know, but it doesn't hurt to hope for that day to come."

After a while of cooing over Little Star, Nurse Red Heart told them they needed to leave so Twilight could be taught how to nurse her foal. Twilight's friends said goodbye, but Fluttershy decided to hang back.

"Do you think I could stay for Twilight, she doesn't have nopony to support her while we are gone?" Fluttershy asked Nurse Red Heart.

"Of course, just don't get in the way please," responded Nurse Red Heart.

"I won't, thank you."

Fluttershy sat down on an armchair, and talked with Twilight to keep her company while the nurse showed Twilight how to nurse Little Star.

"So Twilight, what does it feel like to be a mother?" asked Fluttershy.

"I thought it would be a little awkward at first, but once I held Little star in my arms, I felt so comfortable with her," responded Twilight.

"Well that's great Twilight, I really am happy for you and your foal."

"Thanks Fluttershy, you've been such a great help."

Later that day, Twilight spent as much time as she could with Little Star.

'She looks like an angel as she sleeps so soundly in my arms. Mercy surely is on my side if I was gifted with such a sweet being brought into my life', she thought to herself.

Little Star stirred in her sleep, starting to wake up from her deep slumber. When she woke up, a quiet, soft yawn escaped her mouth. All of a sudden, Little Star's eye lids slowly lifted up to reveal her eyes yet again. She looked at her mother and cooed.

"Well hello my darling Little Star, dId you sleep well?" asked Twilight, even though she knew her daughter couldn't answer back.

'I wonder what HE would think of Little Star?' she wondered sadly.

A few hours later,once the sun had come down, Fluttershy decided to stay the night on the sofa bed for incase Twilight needed a friend during the night.

The next day, Twilight woke to sunlight coming through the hospital curtains. She felt the yearning of needing Little Star in her hooves right at that moment. She noticed that Fluttershy was already awake, reading a book about animals.

"Fluttershy, could you ask the doctor to bring me Little Star?" asked Twilight.

"Oh, Twilight. I didn't know you were awake. Sure, I'd be happy to do that for you.

During the whole night, the doctors would have to wake Twilight every two hours for Little Star's feeding or any time Little Star cried for her mother. So, Twilight barely had any sleep. That didn't matter though, the yearn for Little Star's affection mattered much more than sleep.

Fluttershy left to ask the doctor to let Twilight hold her foal. After what seemed forever to Twilight, Fluttershy and the doctor came back with Little Star in five minutes.

"Here's your mommy Little Star," said Fluttershy handing her to Twilight.

Twilight took hold of her precious bundle of joy. She really was like a little star.

"Doctor Horse, do you mind sending word for Spike to come? I need him to send a letter to the three princesses," said Twilight.

"Of course your Highness, I'll make sure he is brought here right away," said Doctor Horse.

"Thank you."

"You're very welcome."

Spike came through Twilight's room door, holding a gift basket, quill, ink, and a parchment paper.

"Hey Twilight, Doctor Hooves sent Nurse Sweetheart for me and said you needed a letter sent to the princesses," said Spike.

"Yes, thank you Spike. Oh, is that for Little Star and me?" asked Twilight.

"Nah, it's for the pony next door. Of course it's for you two silly!"

"Alright Spike, enough with the sarcasm. Who's it from by the way?"

"It's from all of us. Hope you like it. There's a baby blanket and bonnet from Rarity, a set of homemade toys made from apple tree wood from Apple Jack, a bath set for you from Starlight Glimmer, homemade chocolates and a special congratulations card for you from Pinkie Pie, a guide to teaching pegasus foals, fillies, and colts how to fly from Rainbow Dash, a bunny shaped nightlight and a bunny crib mobile that plays lullabies from Fluttershy (Had it ready at her house before Twilight gave birth. She told her friends to put her gift to Twilight's foal inside the gift basket for her.), and a record of lullabies to play for Little star to fall asleep to from me," explained Spike in detail.

"Wow, this is amazing! Thanks Fluttershy and Spike! We are so grateful!" exclaimed Twilight in gratitude.

"It was no problem Twilight, we were happy to give you two some gifts," said Fluttershy.

"Oh Twilight, what did you want me to send the princesses?" asked Spike.

"Oh yes, get ready to right Spike."

"At your service M'lady."

"Dear Princess Celestia, Luna, and Cadence,

I am to inform you that I have given birth to my foal two weeks early at the Ponyville Hospital. It would be mine and Little Star's honor if you three visited us to meet her. If you don't mind, please invite my brother Shining Armor, my niece Flurry Heart, and my parents Night Light and Twilight Velvet as well. Thank you, and we are looking forward to seeing you all here.

Spike breathed a flame of his green fire, sending the letter to Princess Celestia. All they had to do now, was wait.

So, I am writing this story to show one of the possible consequences with sleeping with your partner or someone else before marriage, which is getting pregnant if you are a girl, or getting a girl pregnant if you are a guy. Though there are many hardships when raising a child, it can still be a wonderful journey. So, please don't think of your child as a burden if you have gone through this experience. Yes, there will be many challenges, but your child will love and adore you if you just show him or her love and adoration first.

So, I put small chapters into one full chapter. Had some nice advise to make chapters longer, so that's what I'm going to be doing for now on. I also did this with the next chapter as well. Hope you ponies like the change!
