Buen capitulo
I’ve always felt Starlight and Sunset would have made an impressive villainous duo. Looking forward to what happens next.
wait, they still have the crystal cock? They shoud've immediately set to work reverse engineering things like that to try to reverse it back to the crystal heart and opposite of the blanking device. Luckily whoever took it is hopefully smart enough to study it to find out how to reverse engineer it or use it for non-evil purposes.

No, no, sorry. I didn't mean to imply the Crystal Cock was still around. It was shattered in Bruised Apples, and if anything is left, it would just be shards. Maybe something could be done with those, but the heart as it was is effectively gone.
But yeah, you're right. People should look into how these things work, but part of the issue of figuring that out is that (in my personal opinion) even the creators of these object didn't truly understand what they had done in creating these things, so trying to work off of that is going to be tricky, and would require someone who knew how magic itself worked on an intimate level.
A conspiracy?
Spicy. Also, are they not already investigating the few who knew of the shipment?
Fall of Equestria has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. Mostly through the indulgent one-shots, either canon or non-canon. Bruised Apples has been the only multi-chapter FoE story that I have read and enjoyed enough to finish. The curb stomp type ending it gave to FoE as a whole I still find both brilliant and hilarious.
However, I feel that I won't be able to come back to this story. At least until it is finished or close to being so. The idea of having Equestria recover from the trauma of the Caribou's rise and fall and the subsequent aftermath is a fascinating one and I am surprised more haven't tried tackling it. But. That's not what I feel like I am reading right now. Right now I feel like I am reading a story about an authoritarian regime trying to stage a coup by taking advantage of a weakened and confused populace. Reading this as each chapter comes out is just going to be frustrating as I see all this as just ultimately being a drastiction from Equestria being able to properly heal and move on to the best of it's natrual ability.

I can understand and respect your viewpoint, and your not wrong. This is less about the healing of Equestria, and more about Trixie's own personal experiences during and after the Fall. If there is any healing to be done, it will be mostly focused on her. This doesn't mean we won't see how other characters deal with the current state of Equestria, which we have seen bits of here or there, but in the end this is Trixie's story, mostly because I personally believe that the healing of Equestria shouldn't happen in a single story, and have lots more stuck in my noggin that I am hoping to get to eventually.
If you do decide to come back to the story once it is done, I hope you enjoy it, but I will also understand if you decide not to read this one due to it not being what you'd want from a story about Equestria after the caribou were defeated.
Interesting dynamics seen in this chapter.
Why is the Blanking Device still even around? Or at least still assembled and functioning?

Maybe someone like Sunburst? It could partially match up with Show Canon. It would also be really interesting if this tempered-villain Starlight had her composure tested by him reappearing in her life. Possibly in opposition to her objectives.

I believe it was explained in a prior chapter that they needed to keep a hold of the blanking device since it might be the only way to restore ponies. Being a device of caribou design, it can't be fully dismantled without the possibility of destroying it.
That cover is starting to take shape
Eeyup, Sunset's pulling some strings
