So, if you haven't noticed, the sequel to God Empress of Ponykind, The Empress Returns, was published yesterday afternoon. Off to a good start, all things consider, but FIMFiction's bizarre queuing system meant that it has gone a bit unnoticed.
Special Note: The Equestrian Guard
Sometimes, just a force of Legionnaires is not enough. Sometimes, a force is needed to hold the line until the Legions can arrive.
For those times, the Equestrian National Guard, or as it's normally called the Equestrian Guard, steps forward to hold the line.
This was probably more prevalent when the fandom was young and we knew jack about the past of Celestia and Luna. You remember this, right? All those stories that painted Celestia as a tyrant and Luna as the Woobie, and how a republic under her control would be so much better than what's currently in place?
Well, did you know that something like this happened prior to the Lunar Heresy?

I've gotten much farther in my next chapter of Warmistress, so expect to see that sometime in the future unless I run out of inspiration. Anyway, one thing I had to do while writing this chapter was come up with a few more clans for the Deer, since I've only mentioned two. So here's a list of the five major clans, as well as the Craftworlds from which they draw some (very) loose inspiration from as well as what species of deer they are:

My thought was this: what would Empress!Celestia's reaction be if she met some of the other powerful beings that inhabit pony fanfics. What would she say if she met, or even just learned about, Lunaverse!Luna (or better yet, Corona), or the aforementioned Nyx, or Alternia (from Princess Celestia, The Changeling

Although Equestria is much more peaceful than it had been when Celestia first came to power, like any nation it still has enemies. The most powerful of these enemies is the ever present threat of Chaos, but not all of the forces that seek quarrel with Equestria are daemons and their slaves. Some have been around longer than the presence of Chaos, while some have remained hidden until very recently.

This isn't foreshadowing to my stories, but it's just a theory I have.
Now, the Four Gods of Chaos draw their powers mainly from emotions. The reason why they're trying to actively KILL MAIM BURN! the universe is because they're constantly being fed negative emotions (Bloodlust, Despair, Lust, Envy). But they also draw emotion from positive emotions, such as honor, love and hope.

I was trying to score God Empress just a little while ago.
Not sure why, but I just felt like maybe some of the parts might go good with music.... if you're in to that sort of thing, listening to music while reading because I know some people are.
