1. The masses have spoken (and by that I mean one person voted on my poll), and they want me to continue the BattleTech spinoff (renamed to FiMTech) so that's what I'll do. I ordered the Legend of the Jade Phoenix trilogy and I'm gonna read the books as fast as I can before I start writing again, so hopefully that will enable me to make the clanners a bit more authentic in how they speak and act.

85k words later and I have a story I'm happy with. This story reignited my love for BattleTech. I'll have to catch up on a bunch more of the lore before I start part two. Time for a long, relaxing break.

I just have to proofread and publish 15k words and my first real fanfic will be done. I love the plot twists I put into it at the end, and I hope the ending is as enjoyable to read as it was to write. I re-wrote quite a few scenes many times until I was eventually happy with them, and I can safely say I'm proud of this story.

On occasion I'll cry during a sad movie, or maybe even the odd book, but I never thought I'd cry while writing (well, very nearly cry, anyway). Not gonna say what happens, just know that this next chapter is why the tragedy tag is included in the story. It and the epilogue should be released by the end of the week. I'll publish them together, though I don't know how long the epilogue is going to be yet. Definitely longer than the prologue, but not as long as an actual chapter.

It's a lot for one chapter, but I don't think there's enough content to split it into two without dragging things out or rewriting the whole chapter. I'll try to keep it under 8k words, but I'm not making any promises.

Also, there's a subtle reference to MechWarrior 3 in the chapter if you catch it. Just thought you should know. It should be out in the next couple of days.

I managed to get my laptop running(ish) again, so I can start writing. I've got Ubuntu running off of a thumb drive, and I'm actually really liking it so far. I'm considering installing it to my new drive when I get it so that I can actually use it properly. Only having 2GB of free storage bites.

I feel like writing a nice little one-shot story to celebrate (and also because it's April 1st and I've got a good idea for a joke themed fic). I'll probably do that after dinner.

My laptop hard drive decided it was tired of living. If I'm lucky I'll be able to get a repair shop to pull my data off. I'm not writing any chapters on my phone, so I'm gonna have to put the fic on hold while I sort this out. Hopefully no longer than a week or two.

Fuck this sucks.

I have so many great ideas but I'm stuck in that weird transition phase where it's boring to write about and I'm getting writer's block again but it's necessary to make the story not feel rushed and it's just argh...
