My writing is a tad bit long, huh? (MW:LaE update) · 2:13am Feb 16th, 2019
I was looking through what I have done for chapter 3 so far (it should be out tomorrow, but I'm not promising. I don't have anything else to do and I've got it about 3/4 done, excluding proofreading) and I realized just how much I've been putting into the story. It almost feels like I'm including fluff and dragging the chapters out longer than they need to be, but there's nothing I want to remove. I like what I've written so far and I don't want to shorten it. I blame Tui Sutherland for my writing style.
I was shooting for ~50k words, but with how much I'm including it might end up as more. I don't really mind that; in fact I feel pretty good knowing that I'm writing so much, given my history of cutting things short and making rushed stories with like 10 chapters that are all ~500 words each (I'll never let those stories see the light of day). I'm just wondering if anyone actually wants to read a fanfic that's longer than many novels.
Do you guys think the story is slow paced? I know there are only two chapters so far excluding the prologue, but I don't think things will pick up much until chapter 6 at this pace (maybe late chapter 5 depending on how things go). Is that too slow, or is it paced well? Maybe I could release a much shorter version once this one is done. I could cut some things out and give that version a teen rating, too.
