The Dubliners - The Sick Note
Thought some of you would enjoy this.
It appears Trixie's real father has been identified, courtesy of this last episode. Kinda makes me wonder if she’s the result of an special-”private-performance”-after-a-show or some such. But anyways....
Saw that I somehow managed to “unpublish” the first chapter of Rarity Gets Caught. It’s been set back out there....
I’ve been going back through Rarity Gets Caught, patching up grammatical slip-ups that snuck past. I’ve also been dealing with continuity breaks, and some wording that was unclear. A few lines were also improved; prime example was Rarity standing over Salazzle, snapping about that Rapidash wasn’t for sharing...yes, you were right; it was lampshading the whole thing (you know who you are). Much better line now.
It's a milestone, small potatoes to some, but it's good to get into the triple digits for somebody who liked one of m' stories! Guess I did okay.
Still not sure what to write next...the last part of the triology just isn't coming off m' fingers, nor is enjoyable to write. Thoughts?
Just finished the rough draft of the epilogue. About to start another work week, and it’s Prime Week to boot. Longer days, more days, and doubtlessly more orders...oophta. But at least it’ll be more profitable than most, eh?
I’ll get to the editing when I can, but...it feels kinda strange that soon, this thing I’ve had bouncing around m’ for a year now will be done and behind me. It was last July the idea came to me, and now...’bout to put the icing on the caking and send it out.
Did it all today. Now that I’m on days, I get to be daddy on the days m’ wife works and I don’t...it’s nice to have the kiddo. Rinsed out and filled up wading pool for her. Had to slay mosquito larvae, and did so with enthusiasm. Hate the sodding buggers. Anyways, the kiddo wandered around the side of the fence, then screamed and returned to me in tears, demanding to be held. I could not find a sting welt, but after she was in the pool for a little while, the inside of her right foot looked
There's simply too much left to write in this chapter for me to have any real chance of posting it tonight. I'm gonna take it easy and make sure it's done right; it's gonna be a gem.
Looks like I will get it out on time. Just finished editing, and we have internet back. We'll be massively reducing the number of channels we'll get on the tube, simply put because we don't use many of them at all. That'll cut down on costs significantly, and hopefully means this interruption won't happen again. If nothing else, ye olde internet is about the only effective way to look at job postings quickly nowadays. And while Amazon's not been a bad place to work, the checks simply aren't
Apparently m' wife decided to not pay the internet bill when she was handling the others. Typing away on ye olde phone, but with a cheaper data plan, and slower/less accurate typing, there's no way I'm going to punch up the next chapter on this thing. Might not be on here much in the interim. So...not yay. Will update once both the next chapter is readied, and can post it.
Clearly, I badly miscalculated on that one. I thought that after a number of heavy-drama chapters and with things about to get heavy, this was a good time to have a funny/silly chapter, as a comedy relief. Frankly, looking at the plot outline, this was my last chance to have a chapter that was more to the comedy side. Earlier in the story, poking fun at the game mechanics by having the ponies (namely, Rarity) run face-first into them and pointing out their absurdity was well-received;
All votes are tallied (glad this didn't number something like a county-wide election ), and somehow I'm not surprised with the result. The winner will be revealed when the new chapter goes up on Wednesday just after 8pm EDT, when I go on break at work that night.
Two simultaneous events, both needing to be seen, both getting two chapters apiece. Given your "druthers," as m' in-laws like to say, which one do you want to go first?
Would you rather see Rarity and Rapidash look for a way to break out of the Daycare and make a run for it?
Or would you rather Twilight and Starlight roam Sinnoh's Underground, in tracking down Trixie to her Secret Base?
Granted the other will follow, but what do you find more pressing to see resolved first?
Why? Well, since m' wife and I couldn't go out on our anniversary proper, we'll be doing so tomorrow evening. She wanted to see the Power Rangers film...takin' me back a number of years. The first series was out when I was in sixth grade, and it seemed poorly done then, too. Excessive arm whooshing noises and whatnot.
Every now and then m' wife looks at the comments on m' stories. It's not often, but I'll take it when I can (she thinks I'm ridiculous for doing this at all, which is likely true, but I'm still having fun with it). Specifically, in looking at the comments on the latest chapter of Rarity Gets Caught, she said, "Angry bunch of folks, aren't they?"
I said, "A wee bit."
She said, "I haven't seen this many people wish a character dead since Umbridge."
Thus I dealt with any many errors as I could find (hopefully there aren't any more lurking around there...have a habit of unwittingly omitting words ). Now I wait for first break at work tonight, and hit the publish button then.
Storm rolled through this morning, and seemed to have knocked out power across the entire county. We managed to avoid the tornado watches, but still. Cell signal is still operational, obviously.
The chapter is written, but without power, it's a might difficult to do all the necessary proofreading. Hopefully the power comes back long enough before I have to leave for work that I can get that done, pick and insert the music, and get it published on time.
Half an hour late, then forgot to add the suggested listenings. Not been my week...at least the nausea's passed. Geez....
Well, it's in place now. Hope you guys enjoy.
It's likely gonna be an isolated incident that a chapter turns as dark as this one does, but it's a rough one for a solid moment. Normally a single dark chapter isn't enough to warrant adding a Dark tag for the whole story, but I'm not sure. There's also that there are other dark things that happened here and there, but not like this. Let me know if think the tag's necessary for the chapter, the whole thing, or just let it be.
Some kind of stomach bug has been going around these parts. It got me. I don't know if I can write with m' head in a fog all the time. I'll give it a go, but I'm just tired. Hopefully this doesn't last long. I apologise if the next chapter is late because of this.
Next chapter is poised to have a rather intense moment. You should see it coming.
Gonna try to sleep again.
