Looking back, I must admit to having mixed feelings about my efforts on FIMfiction during 2016. I got mostly good reactions to the stories I wrote, including one (Pas de Deux) making the RCL. But if I'm reasonably reassured that my writing skills are showing some progression, I am somewhat disappointed with the quantity of words I've published on the site.

I must apologies to readers of my current ongoing stories. I've been participating in a story writing contest that has literally consumed all of my available writing time, and no few of my sleeping hours from the end of May until the present! I didn't expect that it would take this much time, and that I would last so long. If I continue to win "matches" it might still be a few weeks. If not, then I'll be back to finish Outland and A herd of my Own.

Dear friends,

I will publish chapter five of A Herd of my Own on the next few days. I'm also participating in the OC Slamjam, but I hope that won't get in the way of the four different stories I am currently working on. (And if wishes were fishes...)

In this chapter I have also done more of the visual humour I've started playing with in "Herd". Artstudio on the iPad Rocks! let me know what you think of it, and if I should do it again in other stories.

As Twilight and Dash head out into the deep Everfree, Spike has concerns of his own that involve several of his favorite mares (in a mostly platonic fashion), and a certain princess is about to get an unexpected visit and the complications it can bring.

1) Outland: which follows the adventures of Zecora and Shad, and
2) A Herd of my Own: in which Twilight and Spike face the immediate aftermath of Tirek's attempt to take over Equestria and their own changed circumstances.
