In an uncharacteristically sudden move, EQD approved and posted The Carrot Dog Fight today. I got an email about it and fifteen minutes later it was up on the site. I've never seen them do something that quickly before. I'd sent the story back in after it got its no-strike rejection, so I was expecting a few more weeks. Do you guys think it's funny enough for a Comedy tag? I think it's funny in parts, but not as a whole. However, I did get a few comments saying that they thought it was amusing.

What do you think? Does it count as comedy?

So my new story should be up as soon as it passes approval.

I'm really happy with this little story. It's not very long, but I think it works really well for a small window into what went on behind the scenes of a one-off joke.

What was really great is that I spent a couple of hours with InquisitorM today, and he helped me tighten it up a lot. I'm pretty eager to see what people think of it. He gave me a bunch of new ways to think about structuring narrative and dialogue.
