Hello everyone,
Tagging Spread because it's relevant to this discussion of my plans for future writing.
I've decided to table a sequel idea for now, because I want to take a break from that story and try to write something else.
First of all, obviously my "April Fool's Day" joke was stupid, just like last year's. This, however, is not a joke blog post. In fact, I was considering waiting until midnight to post this just so people know it's not a joke, but I think it's really silly to conform to the conventions of a "holiday" as trivial as April Fool's Day. No, this is something that's actually gnawing at me, and I want to get it out there.
Here's what you guys are saying about Spread.
On August 26, 2013, I posted the opening chapters to a story that I never expected to last 217 days. Now, I am finally drawing Spread to a close.
My deepest regrets were the increasing lapses between chapters and the lack of explicit material of satisfying length. This last chapter is no different in that regard, but it was time for me to put this story to bed.
Hello!
I just updated Spread with a rather short chapter in an attempt to wrap up the two side arcs of the story. I also want to let you know that there will be one chapter of Spread left featuring Twilight and Rarity, and that's going to bring the story to a close.
A bit of a disclaimer, but I think I might have rushed the ending. Still, I'm happy with what I was able to write in the past week, and hopefully you'll enjoy reading it.
I'll post it later today to give as many people a chance to read it as possible. It's only about 6:30 in the morning where I am, so I imagine most of the site's users are still asleep.
I hope it turns out to be worth the wait.
I didn't think it would take more than six weeks to return to this project, but work has begun for Chapter 20. Since that is the case, the story's technically no longer on hiatus, so I've changed the status back to "Incomplete."
I've put this story off for way too long, and I just want to let you know that I'm finally making progress on it again. I'm sticking to my thousand word a day quota, so given the length of an average chapter, it should be ready by the end of the week.
I realized a big part of my writer's block today. I have a chapter of Spread coming up that will involve a lot of clop, and I'm very uncomfortable thinking about writing it. I don't know if I'm afraid it won't be good enough or if the thought of writing truly intimate intercourse instead of pornographic sex is plaguing me.
Hey guys,
I had a few personal matters creep up over the weekend, and I don't feel comfortable writing for the site at this time while I try to sort things out. That being said, I'm putting "Spread" and "The Great Ponyville Bake-Off" on hiatus.
I might (emphasis on "might") work on these or other projects in the meantime, but I need a break from writing for the site until I sort things out. I hope to see you on the other side of the break.
Hello,
I've been a lot busier than I expected to be the past week or so, mostly with real-life stuff, but that's why Spread and The Great Ponyville Bake-Off have not been updated in a while.
I expect Spread to take a bit longer to update, as the chapters I need to write are generally longer and the story is a much tougher one to write.
Thanks so much to everyone who's enjoyed this story. I was quite surprised by the feedback, and I hope I can continue to entertain you in the future.
So, Spread hasn't updated in two weeks, and the reason why is that I've been involved in other activities. I have other hobbies that I pursue while I'm at home from school, and they've taken priority to my writing. This kind of sucks, because I know (or at least hope) that some of you are waiting patiently for an update. I recognize that chapter updates have been further and further apart, and there's a reason why.
So, I promised a Spread update by Friday, and it's now Monday. Going home from college took up a lot of my time last weekend, but now that things are settling I can hopefully return to a more frequent writing schedule.
The chapter ended up being about Applejack and Fluttershy when it should have also included a segment with Twilight, Rarity, and Spike. But I think it'll be better if I save that for the next chapter.
Hello, followers, readers of Spread, and other people who might happen upon this blog.
Haven't had a chance to test the new story tagging system, so I'm giving it a shot here. If one of you who faved Spread but isn't following me could let me know if you got this post, that'd be great!*
