I said that I want to do a collation post on the state of pony technology observed in canon. The Points of Canon series is still a ways off from being complete, but I think I have enough data, so why not do it now.
Since there's no real canon rules about batponies, I decided to loosely use the Fallout Equestria canon with a few modifications considering Equestria hasn't been destroyed in my scenario. Now Guyrin cannot speak like a normal pony because his vocal cords emit much higher frequencies, higher than equine (or human) ears could hear. All he can do is whimper, moan, and hiss... This is much more off-the-ground theorizing than my typical article on the subject, but eh, why not, canon is sparse, and fanon on the subject is sparser still.
Might as well do another one while I’m on a roll.
Continuing the retrospective while I still have the time and energy.
I noticed that we’re out of fresh pony for a while. And I have a few hours.
And since it’s about time to try to rearrange the episode timeline, maybe I should do another retrospective canon combing.
I’ve got an hour. And I know what to do with it.
The trailer for this one was quite promising in terms of worldbuilding elements. Let’s see what the real thing nets us.

There was some confusion about it before…
First we had “hoofball.” Then, in Friends Forever #24 we got “boffyball,” which is a game primarily popular outside of Equestria, at least, according to Rarity.
But now there’s “buckball,” and I’d really love some more detailed description of all of them for my records.
Ah, the last episode before the hiatus. Judging by the leaked list of episode names, it’s the one least likely to screw up something from the upcoming ones, but let’s see…

I’m going to extend the practice of canon statement combing to chapter books as well. Mostly because I can. I generally ignore them, because they are usually even less in tune with the primary canon than comics – I only have that much glue to hold it together. The Journal is kind of an exception because of how important it is.
But maybe, just maybe, at least some of them can be exploited for more dramatic opportunities…

Meet episode 14. Which was, as the rumors say, supposed to be episode 18. Chronology be damned.
I’m not labeling this a “Season 9 episode 0” like some people did, because I’m pretty sure it won’t fall into the time frame of Season 9 either, whenever that airs. I expect numerous chronology issues from this one…
