Well, this was going to go up in autumn when I first put it on the schedule, but the intervening time in Maretime Bay shoved it into a much less thematically appropriate timeslot. So it goes; let’s close out the four royal seasons and see what’s worth remembering about this book.
And so, at last, we come to the finale the long way. Let us begin.
This might be milking the series a bit much, but how else do you get moon cheese? 
The madmen finally did it. Multiple its, actually. A moment of silence, please, for the Second Great Headcanon Massacre of 2019.
What? You didn’t think it was over, did you? I still have almost half of Season 3 to blather about and make into cards, starting with Dash’s once-a-season step towards getting into the Wonderbolts.
If ever there were a time to look at Kkat’s signature work, it would have been several weeks ago, when the Fallout decks came out, or possibly several years before that. Since this is the first hole in my schedule after those decks’ release, we’re looking at it now.
The next entry on the schedule was issues #21 and 22 of the G5 mainline, but those have failed to manifest, making me wonder if that line’s actually been ended in favor of the various mini-series currently in progress. And among them, I only have one released issue unaccounted for. As such, it’s time to turn to the next pony novel… which does not contain ponies.
And so we reach the end of the Canadamantic prophecy. Well, this Canadamantic prophecy, anyway. We’ll see what else the sibyls in their Treehouse have to say later this year.
For now, though, it’s not just our northern neighbors that concern me. Time to return to Yakyakistan.
If you’re surprised to see this, you clearly didn’t read all of Friday’s blog post, nor did you check the calendar at the time. For shame. No, I’m not quitting Magic or ponies any time soon, though the former did mean that I missed the TV broadcast of the latter, which means I can do a quasi-live reaction as I watch.
I have commencement tomorrow, and I go to Rutgers. Obama’s the commencement speaker, so I have no idea how early I’ll need to leave ahead of time. As such, this one’s going up a day early. Ahem:
Starlight Glimmer apparently has phasing, which makes sense given her dabbling in chronomancy. This week, she’s phased in, and we’re dipping into the stock plots for a bit of out-of-seasonal cheer.
This week, ponies young and old have lessons to learn, delivered by some very unusual teachers.
Between hearing things and Pinkie Pie, this week’s theme appears to be insanity. Let’s see how nuts it gets.

Well, that was fun. The macro-plot progresses, best pony returns, and griffins continue to be a thing.
(That said, I have seen a very good point regarding Butch Deadlift Big McLargeHuge Stan Johnson Bulk Biceps: Why is somepony who qualified for the Wonderbolts Academy having so much trouble now? The answer, of course, is the demands of the plot and dramatic tension, but in that case, the story shouldn't explicitly reference the episode with which it conflicts.)
Greetings from Brooklyn! Visiting my sister for the weekend, so there may be some Group Precipitation delays. However, I made sure to get the card blog ready over the week, and she and her wife are much later risers than I am.
Going to need to make this relatively quick, and apparently out of chronological order. (And yes, this was quick. I only got my replacement laptop about four hours ago. Love and care go into these blogs.) In any case, it’s time for perhaps the most metareferential episode the show’s ever given us.
This week, there’s a mystery afoot. Ahoof? Something along those lines. Point is, it’s off to the big city.
Others have mentioned this, but there’s something important to note about “Dance Magic.” It was originally intended as a prequel to Legend of Everfree, which would make vastly more sense in terms of the timeline. Doylistically, they switched gears mid-production (hence the spring dance after summer camp,) but Watsonianly? I’m going with my standard policy for bizarre temporal phenomena in pony: I’m blaming Starlight Glimmer.
Season 8 premiers next week, which means we must again bid farewell to the comics for a time. So, let’s see if they can go out on a high note as…
