Since no one has answered you yet, I'll give it my best shot as someone that has planed stories in the genre. I can call TCB a genre, right?

I think that a good story ought to have varied groups with varied opinions. I mean, HLF has an obvious opinion and that is really a no-brainer. I think that this would be best explored in a story about someone that wanted to become a pony and ended up as a griffon. Or, some other race. I don't think it's a very explored concept and it is worth a few shots at.
