Which OCs that Took a Level in Badass as part of their Character Development? - Friendship Is Awesomes

This trope is about n otherwise average or weak character suddenly becomes a lot more powerful and/or competent.

Just says they start off as a weak character who couldn't hurt a fly or not good at fighting and always get their ass whoops but the whole point of their character development is transforming them from the load who can't even defend themselves to a freaking beast who doesn't take shit from others.

This post is basically asking some of your weakest OCs to dare to be Badass.

Which OCs who took a level in badass as part of their character development?

I go first

Speed Demon Kid starts off as a nervous wreck who can't even talk to a girl for minutes without freaking out after suffering being bullied by everyone... but after going through a lot of character development and training, he will not hesitate to beat the crap anyone who hurt him or especially his loved one and he even unlocked his ultimate form! Turbo Boost which make him even more badass! He's no longer a shy bullied kid anymore

Rash was just another Shadow Jacker who wasn't powerful to beat Eki but after forming a connection with Scarlet and being adopted by his family with a lot of training from Fox Hound cause him to level up his badassery and even caught a punch from Eki and manages to punch him out... he's not letting Eki play him like a toy anymore for sure

Scarlet was a princess who lacks in fighting since she doesn't want to hurt anyone but she eventually took a training after realizes that she doesn't want to be Damsel in Distress since she hate that and once again, she ends up becoming the most badass princess who will bring pain to anyone who dare to hurt her beloved Rash. (Yes, she would go Violently Protective Girlfriend mode if something bad happens to Rash)

Bob Wallstreet was meant to be a joke character who always get his ass whoops a lot and is otherwise cowardly character but after pulling a face turn, he becomes more braver and even build himself a mecha suit rather letting machines do his work to show that he willing to fight on his term. His cowardly days are over!

Shiva starts off as a dog who was living very contently as the pet of two loving humans, before being yanked away from her home life and dropped into a new world with powers she barely understood. She started off terrified, confused, and very conflicted about hurting others. But as she accepted that she wasn't going to be able to go back to the way things were, she grew into her role as the matriarch of the pack, overthrowing either the oppressive diamond dogs (Equestria version) or Myst ('Of Scales and Fur' version).

Jazz also starts off apathetic and not really caring about anything but her music. However, as she develops a bond with Adagio, it extends to her cautiously reaching out and becoming friends with the other dogs Myst had taken. As such, Jazz becomes more invested in keeping the pack safe, and even takes lessons in swordplay, turning her flute from a simple instrument to a secret light saber. One that she then uses to protect Shiva and her children.

And while she was never cowardly, I imagine that Celine would have a development arc where, after Kodo loses his mind to madness and Shiva and Luke are enslaved by his link, Celine finds the courage to stand against her brother, and also realize that talking things out peacefully won't solve anything, becoming a really badass martial pacifist with some stellar martial arts moves to defend herself when needed.

Similarly, Blue Moon starts off very shy and conflicted about her status as Star Wing's daughter, not believing she is capable of rising to the task. However, just as Frost Bite learns humility, Blue learns to be more confident in herself and with the help of her friends and her boyfriend Ryder, she grows into the role of a capable warrior and hero, who won't hesitate to bring down bad guys; especially if they mess with her man Ryder.

Antenna would also have an arc where she realizes that she can't use sex and love to solve every problem, and instead learns how to become a 'silk hiding steel' type assassin; she'll still try to go for the loving route, but if someone tries to attack her regardless, she learns to attack back with concealed weaponry.

Swift also has a development arc where he starts off as a very cowardly bird who wants to run away rather than fight. However, when Star Wing needs him, and he's the only one that can save his friends, he swallows his fear and goes in to help them, becoming more courageous and even unlocking a power over hurricanes.

And finally, while not exactly a coward, Wildvine starts off very apathetic and lazy, not wanting to do much since others will often do it before she needs to try. However, I envision a situation where every other hero gets downed or captured, and Wildvine's the only one left who can do anything. Realizing that she has to step up, Wildvine proves she can be just as cunning as her mother, and manages to free the others, showing that even though she's not the most adventurous or outgoing, she is far more than just a lazy stoner.
