Essentially your OCs would be living inside of a person's body like this movie.

Again, not the high stake film but as the emotions are major source of conflict instead.

So who would your OCs be in Inside Out?

Let's start off with the humans.

Humans

Rei- Riley Andersen

The human protagonist and overall, tritagonist of the film.

Very surprising choice due to the main Rei being emotionless girl but unlike her, this Rei is more emotional character since this is based on Human Rei before she was killed.

Like Riley, Rei struggled of living in the California as she missed living in Tokyo, Japan and despite speaking good English, she still doesn't know how to deal with her new surroundings and as a result along with Joy and Sadness' absence, she becomes more introverted.

The difference is Rei's emotional state is worsening by the loss of her mom and despite Joy and others try to help her of grieving her mom's death, it's not enough to help Rei until Sadness finally influenced her so she can express to her family how much she missed her mom and want her back and want go back to Tokyo which after unleashing her bottled emotions, she becomes better and being extroverted girl again.

Grandmaster Kazuya- Bill Andersen

Rei's widowed father.

The difference is Kazuya is a serious but loving father who loves his children more than anyone else and did his best to help Rei of dealing with her emotional problems and her struggling with her mom's death.

When he found out about Rei running away, he and Jill's equivalent went out to search for Rei and they did find her after she came to them and expresses how much she missed her mom and Kazuya and Jill's Equivalent comfort her.

Red Star Jin- Jill Andersen

Rei's older brother.

The difference is he does go to the same school Rei attending and when Rei having a breakdown, he automatically went after her and did his best to comfort her.

While he and Kazuya mourn the loss of his mom/Kazuya's wife, he knew Rei didn't take the loss very well since she was close to their mom very much and he's willing to help her to deal with the loss.

Now, let's go inside of her mind!

Riley's Mind

Scarlet- Joy

The overall main protagonist of the film and the source of Rei's happiness.

Unlike Joy, She doesn't treat Sadness' equivalent crap and instead, she's the only one who attempts to help him with his situation of being Sadness and wanting him to be happy all the time.

So when she and Sadness get into a big argument after Scarlet refuses to let him come along with him as she doesn't want to contaminated the core memories, she straight up told him in angry that "Maybe Rei is better off without you cause all you do is make things worse for EVERYONE!!!!!" and by the time she said those hurtful words, Scarlet immediately become remorse and try to apologize to Sadness' equivalent but he took off running before she can get the chance... when she find herself in Memory Dump, she realizes she can't force others to be happy all the time and she let her duty almost destroyed her relationship with Sadness.

Fortunately, she get to reconcile with Sadness and give him a heartfelt apology to him and she even let him to influence Riley in the climax as her apology gift to him.

In the ending, she hold her hand with Sadness and guess who is Sadness in this version?

Rash- Sadness

The deuteragonist of the film and the source of Rei's sadness.

Unlike Sadness, Rash is more of a brooding loner who believes he shouldn't exist and wonder what was the whole point of being Rei's emotion since he knows all he do is make things worse for Rei and other emotions.

The only one he get along with is Scarlet who sympathize with him and try to help him to overcome his situation of being sadness.

When he have a falling out with Scarlet and after she said hurtful words to him, he said this "I was right after all, thank you for reminding me about who I truly am... a monster."

Fortunately, when Rash about to jump into Memory Jump, Scarlet stops him and pleading him to not kill himself before giving him the most heartfelt apology to him and saying there's a reason why he's there which lead to Rash finally influenced Rei in the climax and for the first time, he did good thing in his life.

In the end, he hold his hand with Scarlet which implies they are in a relationship.

Dark Mark- Anger

The source of Rei's anger.

The difference is unlike Anger, Dark Mark take his anger by shooting at object with his trademark gun and is the crazy guy of the group.

When he tries to solve everything with violence, others try to pull him back from doing violence as they don't want Rei to make something she would regret of doing it.

Like Anger, he does regret when he have Rei run away from home.

Insect Girl- Disgust

The source of Rei's disgust.

Very strange choice but hear me out.

The difference is Insect Girl would be covered in slime and smelly stuffs and unlike Disgust, she tend to botch her job more often which lead to comedy like she almost let Rei eating trash food when she was a kid before others intervene and ask her to stop her and she gives in by influenced her to not eat it before saying "Killjoy".

Despite that, she does care for Rei as she makes sure she doesn't eat or drink very unsafe food/drink or preventing her from befriends very toxic folks and forbidden her to gives in peer pressure.

Speed Demon Kid- Fear

The source of Rei's fear.

Like Fear, Speed is always worried about Rei's safety and tend to get carried away by influenced her too much to the point she locked herself in the room as a kid before others convinced him to tone it down.

Despite his cowardly attitude, he ultimately have to take on the role of leader temporarily since Dark Mark and Insect Girl are too crazy to be the leader and like Fear, he would be Only Sane Man of the trio.

Rover Danger- Bing Bong

Rei's imaginary friend.

He would be like Tokusatsu hero that Rei grow up with and inspire her to creates her own imaginary friends with an attitude of American Superheroes from American movies she watches back in Japan.

Rover becomes Scarlet and Rash's companion as he's been waiting to do a hero work but deep down, Rover knows he's not real and admits he's not the superhero Rei build him up to be.

Like Bing Bong, he ultimately sacrifice his life so Scarlet can save Rash and before he fade out, he smiles as he finally get to be a hero for real.

Ryder- The Forgetters

He would be composite of two Forgetters.

A lazy mind worker whose job it is to clear out and dump old memories that Rei no longer needs.

Unlike them, Ryder is a lazy bum who tend to forget things and he sometimes accidentally drop the wrong memories but despite that, he does do a good job at clear out and dump old memories. (Inside Out's Ryder is like Scruffy from Futurama)

Like them, Ryder does like to troll emotions by sending them a cheesy ass commercial with annoying jingle as he likes to see their reactions.

Eki- Jangles the Clown

One of Rei's worst fear.

Like Jangles, he's not the main threat as he's imprisoned in Subconscious area along with things that Rei's afraid of.

The difference is Inside Out's Eki is based on a horror movie villain who uses toys to kill his victim and Rei watching horror movie at a young age traumatized her so much that she despises all horror movies.

So who would your OCs be in Inside Out?

Riley Andersen - Celine

The girl who's emotions take center stage, and the tritagonist.

Similar to Rei, Celine's emotional state is worsened by the loss of a loved one. However, here, it's her older brother, Kodo, who was killed after getting mixed up with the wrong crowd. She's unable to deal with the conflict of emotions, as her brother had both good and bad in him, and figuring out how to balance them is part of what drives the conflict between the counterparts of Joy and Sadness, leading to her being able to confront how much she misses her brother.

Bill Andersen - Luke

Celine's father.

Similar to Bill, Luke is a bit more laid back, but he does know when to get serious, and he drops everything to find Celine when he learns she ran away to where her brother was buried.

He's also much more the anchor of the family, as his good attitude influences Celine and her mother to try and emulate him, yet he also lets them know that it's okay to be sad, and comforts both his family members when they finally vent their emotions.

Jill Andersen - Shiva

Celine's mother.

She too is torn up about the death of her son, but tries to put it to the side in order to focus on Celine.

She recognizes that Celine is going through some stuff, and later admits that she was feeling the same way, venting her emotions around the same time that Celine does as a way to help her know that she's not alone.

Joy - Star Wing

I've always seen Star as my own version of Joy, so it made sense to me that she'd appear here as the protagonist.

Similar to Joy, Star tries to constantly look on the bright side of things, and be the 'shining star' that guides everyone else. However, that does mean that she tends to be passive-aggressive with Sadness, not understanding what she's there for and doing a very bad job of hiding the fact that she wishes Sadness would just go away.

However, working with Sadness to get back to the core helps her realize that she's been more harmful to Celine than good, and learns to back off and let the other emotions have their chance to help.

Sadness - Blue Moon

The source of sadness and the deurontagonist of the film. Intriguing isn't it; my source of joy spawns my source of sadness. But happiness and sadness can oftentimes be two sides of the same coin.

In the same vein, Blue is a bit like Fluttershy; always keeping to the background, meekly agreeing with everyone, and yet still giving off an aura of pathetic depression that irritates Star Wing, who still does try to act like a mother figure to her as a result of Blue's constant depression.

Unlike with Rash, Blue is actually pitied by the others, who look at her as a sort of baby sister of sorts, which leaves them all horrified when she gets knocked out of the control room, and leads to Star Wing personally trying to help her.

Through the journey back, Blue discovers that she isn't useless, and that Star was wrong in trying to constantly push her away, something Star herself admits and promises to work on.

The two don't end up in a relationship, unlike Rash and Scarlet (since Star and Blue are mother and daughter, it'd be kind of awkward), so instead they go for a more platonic mother and daughter hug.

Anger - Myst

The source of Celine (and my) anger.

Myst is constantly infuriated by everything around her, and tends to constantly recommend that Celine beat up whatever's bothering her, serving as the 'fight' instinct to Fear's 'Flight' instinct, though everyone has to point out to her that Celine's a kid and has no chance in a fight. With development, Myst manages to tone it back and recommends Celine be ready to defend herself, as opposed to just mindlessly striking at everything that looks at her wrong.

Like in canon, the others use Myst's rage to get Star and Blue back in. However, instead of flaming up, Myst unsheathes claws and starts swiping, which they use to have her shatter the glass.

Disgust - Diamondback

The source of Celine (and sort of my) disgust (I say sort of because Diamondback was also the source of pride, though that's a job she shares with Frost Bite).

Similarly, Diamondback constantly holds everything to above average perfection, and is utterly disinterested in anything that can't meet her standards. She also tends to be more of the Friend that No One Likes, with Myst constantly getting enraged by her snobby attitude, Star having a very difficult time dealing with Diamondback, and Blue and Fear's counterpart being terrified of her.

However, when Celine starts to go down the wrong path, Diamondback does develop and take on a leadership role, keeping Myst and Fear's counterpart balanced, and doing what she can to try to keep Celine safe, and shows that underneath her snobbery, she does have a motherly heart.

Fear - Swift

The token male of the emotions, and the source of Celine (and my own) Fear.

Swift's anxiety is justified here, as he's the living embodiment of the Flight instinct. Whenever Celine encounters a situation, Swift's first instinct is for her to run away and run away fast. Being a bird, he's also constantly shedding feathers that thankfully evaporate into air after a short time.

He doesn't end up becoming the leader after Star and Blue get sucked out, but he does learn to look past his constant recommendation of the flight, and instead becomes more cautious instead of cowardly, recommending Celine to feel out a situation before she jumps in instead of just telling her to instantly retreat like he usually did.

Bing Bong - Good Kodo

Celine's remembering of all the good Kodo had; a heroic, loyal and kind brother who immediately knows what to do and how to help.

He helps Star and Blue on their journey, being attracted to Star's positivity, and pretty much serves as a reminder to Star about how much Kodo meant to Celine. He's also the one who inspires Blue to be more than just the meek little wall flower she was, and encourages her to find more meaning than just the emotion that no one wants to deal with.

Good Kodo's sacrifice is also slightly more of a reluctant one, as he did desire to be real and wanted to be remembered, but ultimately realized that Star was more important. He manages to keep up his smile as he fades away while waving to Star. But the second Star turns away, Good Kodo lets a single tear slip out, as his heroic smile fades to a scared frown of despair, before he fades away, by extension confusing Celine, as she had been trying to remember her brother as a heroic and brave individual, but her mind got corrupted by remembering all the bad he did.

Luckily, Good Kodo is 'sort of' brought back to life, as Blue venting Celine's emotions and letting her feel sadness allows Celine to take both the good Kodo had with the bad, merging Good Kodo and Evil Kodo together into a simpler memory of 'Just Kodo;' not a heroic hero or an evil villain. Just her brother.

The Forgetters - Wildvine

Similar to Ryder, she'd be a composite character for all the Forgetters, and be the one in charge of clearing out and dumping old memories - which could go hand in hand with her canon super power over weed, which isn't good for the mind.

Similar to Ryder, Wildvine is lazy and looks for ways to get out of doing work. Hence, she's rather glad to have Star show up looking for memories, since it means Wildvine can relax and take a break while Star figures out which ones she needs.

She also doesn't annoy Star with cheesy commercials; Star just ends up finding those by mistake, while Wildvine doesn't really do anything to help.

Jangles the Clown - Evil Kodo

One of Celine's worst fears and a major antagonist.

He's based off of all the bad things Kodo was - arrogant, angry, ruthless and spiteful.

He also serves a bigger role than Jangles, actively pursuing Star and Blue, and even causing conflict between Star and Blue when he seems to be attracted to Blue's despair. Ultimately, however, Star and Blue are able to beat him by working together, and they knock him into the Memory Dump, causing him to be forgotten alongside his good counterpart.

He does 'sort of' come back to life, as Blue letting Sadness paint Celine's memories allows Celine to come to terms with who Kodo was, and she brings back the memories of him as 'Just Kodo,' not as a heroic saint nor as an irredeemable monster, but just as the brother she loved despite his flaws.

So despite the real Kodo's dead, Just Kodo is living inside of his sister's body or in other words, he would be a token human of Celine's inside body… I wonder if he's living with the emotions, what role would he played after they sort of brought him to life?

The reason why I pair Scarlet and Rash as Joy and Sadness cause I like the idea of Scarlet as Joy and Rash being Sadness since it contrast each other. (You get the idea)

Although, Did Star and Moon get into a big argument where Star in heat of a moment said hurtful words to Moon like Scarlet did with Rash and if so, did she regrets it like Scarlet did when they said it?

How does Fox Hound, Cat Catcher and Ricochet react when they saw how very brooding Inside Out's Rash is and tend to belittle himself and question himself what was the whole point of being there if all he do is make things worse for everyone else and the only one he get along with is Inside Out's Scarlet who did her best to comfort him?

Awesome work! :pinkiehappy:

if he's living with the emotions, what role would he played after they sort of brought him to life?

He'd sort of play the role Bing Bong was hoping to play, in that Celine would be able to look to him for inspiration and guidance. He wouldn't be in direct control of an emotion like Star and the others are, but he'd still be able to let Celine know what Kodo would've done in a situation, while making it clear she doesn't have to be exactly like him.

Did Star and Moon get into a big argument where Star in heat of a moment said hurtful words to Moon like Scarlet did with Rash and if so, did she regrets it like Scarlet did when they said it?

Unfortunately, yeah. Star's good-intentioned, but like Joy, she tends to only look at things from one perspective - her own. In a sad way, she saw herself as the protagonist of her story, and Blue as the antagonist of the same story. And when at her breaking point, Star snapped and straight up told Blue that, as far as she was concerned, Blue was the villain since she couldn't just let Celine be happy. And hearing the woman (emotion?) that she looked up to as a mother call her a villain really hit Blue hard, since she had been struggling with what her purpose was for most of the movie. Luckily, Star does regret what she said, and admits later that even though she wanted to be Celine's hero, she was Blue's villain as well, and she apologizes for it before admitting that Celine needs both of their help, and pleading with Blue for aid. Aid that Blue is happy to give.

How does Fox Hound, Cat Catcher and Ricochet react

They'd be saddened by how he feels, and try to comfort their Rash, letting him know that he doesn't make things worse for everyone and that he is loved.

Rico would comfort him with hugs or an offer to go exploring together, with her giving him a few great opportunities to help her and feel important.

Fox would be a bit sterner, but still loving, telling him very bluntly that he doesn't make things worse for others, and pretty much telling him not to think like that, before reminding him in a gentler manner that if it wasn't for him, she never would've gotten over her own anger and frustration and gotten together with Cat again.

And Cat, who's the most attuned with emotions, would (partially teasing and partially serious) talk to the emotions in Rash's head, letting Sadness know that it's okay to feel worry and nervousness, but also reminding Joy to play her part and let Rash remember the good things he's done.

Always happy to share.

I wonder if he's living with the emotions, what role would he played after they sort of brought him to life?

I was thinking about this, and I just got a new idea for Kodo and even Star:

So, let's start with the inciting incident; the core memories getting sucked out of Headquarters. In my version, the memory that Star would try to dispose of was a memory of Kodo getting into an argument with his and Celine's parents, forcing Celine to remember her brother wasn't the great guy Star is trying to make her remember him as.

This core memory is given life during the struggle between Star and Blue, forming two versions of Kodo: Good Kodo, who was spawned from Star trying to make the memory joyful, and thus a version of Kodo that has all his good traits, and Evil Kodo, who was spawned from Blue accidentally making the memory sad, and thus creating a Kodo that has all his bad traits.

Evil Kodo becomes more of an antagonist, chasing Star, Blue and Good Kodo as the personality islands crumble, and Star quickly figures out that Evil Kodo is drawn to his creator, Blue, leading to a harsh conversation between the two on how Star sees sadness as evil and wrong.

The conversation turns heartwrenching when right after alienating Blue, Evil Kodo attacks and knocks Good Kodo and Star into the Memory Dump. Having her epiphany and realizing what a fool she's been, Star reflects on her time as Celine's Joy, realizing that she's been selfish, never letting the other emotions fully flourish and letting her belief that she had good intentions blind her to the damage she was doing.

In what she sees as her first act of selflessness... Star is the one who sacrifices herself so Good Kodo can get out of the Memory Dump. It's hesitant and reluctant, but Star reasons that Celine needs Good Kodo more than her, and tearfully tells Good Kodo not to make the same mistakes she did, and to be willing to let Celine feel sadness, anger, fear and even disgust, as they can all make her happier than just trying to overwhelm her with joy. With those final words, Star plummets back into the Memory Dump, managing to go out with a smile despite clearly being terrified.

With her sacrifice driving him forward, Good Kodo has one final confrontation with Evil Kodo, who has driven Blue to the brink of despair, which is not helped when Blue learns that Star, for all intents and purposes, died. However, instead of fighting Evil Kodo, like Star kept encouraging him to do in earlier fights, Good Kodo instead embraces his darker half, accepting that the boy he was created to be like wasn't perfect, nor was he evil. He was just a guy. Good Kodo and Evil Kodo are then able to merge into a more complete version of Celine's brother, and he takes the role of Joy, though he remembers Star's words about not making the same mistakes she did, and thus gives Blue the chance to reinstall the core memories, allow Celine to finally break down and confess how much she misses the real Kodo, and allowing her to move on.

And while the others mourn the loss of Star Wing, they still accept Kodo, and he becomes much more of a team player, working with the other emotions where Star suppressed them. And with Star's guidance still clearly influencing them, Kodo leads the group - and by extension, Celine - to a brighter and better future.

What do you think?

Well, that is very interesting twist.

I like Kodo essentially take the role of Joy after Star sacrifice her life but unfortunately, Star is unable to reconcile with Moon and thus, she receives Parting Words Regret where she sacrificed her life before she can get a chance to reconcile with Moon and their last conversation ends badly.

Moon is going to have a hard time… I hope Kodo and others comfort her.

Thank you for sharing it.

Moon is going to have a hard time… I hope Kodo and others comfort her.

They would. Kodo would pass on a message to Blue from Star that was essentially Star telling Blue that she was sorry. Not just for their parting words, but also for just being an awful friend to her during their time together. She'd also tell Kodo to tell Blue how she knows that Blue's going to be a wonderful influence on Celine, inserting that trademark joy and optimism that would let Blue know she was being genuine.

And while Blue would still miss Star, she'd recognize that Kodo's doing his best, and would still work with him to keep Celine emotionally stable.

Always happy to share. :pinkiehappy:
