As one of my ways of contributing to this group and fill it will all-the-more life, I decided to share with you guys my Favorite Fanmade videos based on MLP, as well as crossover videos that featured the G4 franchise in the mix, which is something I’ve already been doing on my personal blog posts.

The first video that I’m sharing with you all is a video featuring a song from Disney’s “The Emperor’s New Groove”. It’s called “Snuff Out the Light”. It was sung by the legendary Eartha Kitt, who became best known by fans for voicing the film’s main antagonist, Yzma.

You see, back when the film was originally going to be the now disregarded “Kingdom of the Sun”, lyricists and musicians Sting and David Hartley had originally made eight songs that connected directly to that version of the film. However, due to the overhaul and rewrite of the film’s plot, the songs they made were cut from the film. The good news though is that you can find three of the songs, including the one I mentioned, in the musical album of “The Emperor’s New Groove”, and that Sting of course was able to do a song called “My Funny Friend and Me” for the final version.

At first, I was never interested in listening to the song because I thought it was just something for “The Emperor’s New School”. I also never visioned Yzma as a singer because I was perfectly comfortable with how she and the rest of the film came out, and I still am today.

Then, one fateful night, my interest in listening to the song came, and let me tell ya, it is not what I expected at all. I listened to it 5 or 6 times recently, and it’s so catchy I can’t get it out of my head!

I soon decided to search YouTube to see if there was an MLP video featuring this song, and, surely enough, I found one. And I loved it! Everything in the video fit perfectly together! Nightmare Moon was the perfect pony to sing the song, and the video was just so much fun to watch.

The best part of all is that the song is a great way to remember the late Eartha Kitt, whom I’m always going to remember the most as Yzma.

Anyway, here’s the video. I hope you like it as well. And don’t forget to comment too.
