And for the icing on the cake, he would decline the nomination and run as an Independent.

His one opponent literally moved to Vermont specifically to run against him. The other opponent who withdrew earlier was...Al Giordano. Lmao, they scraped the bottom of the barrel on this one.

6542447 Why is the DNC still trying to make an enemy out of Bernie after effectively barring him from running with the whole "No Outsiders Allowed" rule for the nomination in 2020? One of the biggest failures of Hillary's campaign was stiff arming Bernie and keeping him at arm's length when she needed his supporters to win! Even if Bernie doesn't win in 2020, an endorsement from him could have a huge impact on the playing field and could be the thing that motivates more voters to come to the polls for the Democratic ticket!

The Democratic Party is still going strong, but the DNC is actively trying to mess with success in a desperate attempt to maintain power. The DNC really should just stand aside, this kind of meddling is exactly why Washington despised political parties. It gives off the impression that a candidate loyal to the party is more important than a candidate that resonates with voters. I get that they fear having their own equivalent of Trump's takeover of the Republican Party, but all these measures do is fracture the Democratic Party when it is most in need of coming together.

Well, despite how difficult Trump is making it for them, they need to find some way to lose in 2020!

(I really do think that groups -- like the oil lobby -- may be paying the DNC to lose on purpose.)

Remember the Democratic Party’s new slogan? “For the People”?

Yeah, well you should ask Tom Perez and the rest of the DNC about that.

6542517 I guess that's why the DNC recently reversed it's ban on fossil fuel donations, among other things. It's trying desperately to remain relevant when it's increasingly clear that it is out of touch with the next generation of voters. The people the DNC is worried about, the Red State voters, they're not gonna be anymore inclined to vote for a Democrat because of this, cross party appeal is all but dead at this point. What Democrats should be focusing on, is how to maintain their base, improve their numbers, and court the independents that flipped states like Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennslyvania to Trump.
