Like our own unwavering bulwark against fascist menace under leadership of glorious Premier Alsvid, USSR showed no fear in quashing offensive and problematic rhetoric everywhere she could, and thus, achieved sort of national unity and cohesion otherwise not possible at the time.

I want to believe the USSR was the greatest antifascist force in the history of humanity but I'm not totally convinced yet if the okes that were leading it did not have fascist leanings.

Quite unfortunately Fascism is "Easy Mode" for governments. Any idiot with some guns and desire can make a fascist dictatorship. If things don't go right, beat some more people and burn an ethnic minority. Proper governance takes empathy, forethought, minute adjustments, a long view of history and policy, and actually, a self-effecting attitude at times, a willingness to sacrifice personal desires to a greater good. Fascists act like spoiled children and because of that throw bloody tantrums. All that said, I am agreeing with the one above me, that the wrong men took power and ruined Lenin's contribution to the world.
