I highly doubt it. Likely just some hack of a writer trying to leech of anothers fame and popularity because they can't do so themselves.

A cannon with two 'n's is something you find on a ship, or at a seige.
When something is canon (one n) to something else, it means the author has stated that events that happen in one story happen in the other story.
Now, what he is trying to say, and what you're saying, is that it's part of the Chaseverse, but not actually canon to it, as in nothing that he writes actually happens in the Chaseverse, it's just fanfiction.

I didn't read it, but I saw it before it "vanished"...

I think it was a gothic-noir murder-mystery (I really don't know), but my guess is that the story took place within the Chase-verse, but wasn't directly connected to Kudzu's existing stories.
