I am. They're sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo boring! They're lame, repetitive, stupid, watered down and unoriginal in every sense of the word. I can't even get truly scared at these movies any more. All that happens to me is the jump scare, which isn't fun. A jump scare is not a true scare, it's a reflex. When will they release a good modern horror movie that will actually keep me entertained, glued to the edge of my seat, and holding a pillow to myself as the tension builds? The answer: NEVER!
3587587 Also, modern day horror movies aren't about the scares anymore. It's all about seeing how gruesomely the antagonist can slaughter these poor, defenseless people.
Ah, yes. Torture-porn movies. Yeesh, I'm glad they are falling out of style. The worst movie to try to cash in on the "Saw"-buck (ayuk-yuk) was this dopey flick called "Untraceable". It was about a video web-site that increased the pain of the torture victims according to the number of views he got. One scene that really made me roll my eyes out of my head was when the villain shut off the hero's van via remote control because he was a (GASP) super-hacker!! Oy. Nowadays, demon-possession movies are trendy. They are just as boring as vampire films. Slap some white contact lenses on the teenage girl (or old hag if you are feeling really original ) and BLAMMO, instant demon-possession. Sigh. I have had more fun reading Joe Hill's comics and books than I've had with the recent crop of hooror movies. IDW, the same comic book company that produces the MLP comics (which are cute) also produce Joe's stuff such as "Locke and Key", one of my fave horror/dark fantasy stories. The last horror movie that rang my bell was "Sinister". "Oculus" was sorta-okay, I guess. "The Conjuring" was just bad creepypasta. (Witches don't worship Satan, Hollywood! Get it right!)

I prefer horror novels. Though I happen to love horror flics, books seem to have a more tense, suspenseful affect that movies cant provide.
If you want to read some truly scary shit, head over to creepypasta.com, that site has what you're looking for.

3588169 exactly! God they're so stupid. I prefer movies of a psychological caliber
