Well looks like I'm adding this to the list of movies I'll be waiting for this year.

While we're on the topic of Civil War films, has anyone here heard about the Free State of Jones?

I have the book that it is based on right over here on my bookshelf. It's odd to see a non-fiction book made into a historical fiction movie, but it worked with A Team of Rivals being made into Lincoln so I guess it could fly.

There's also a Civil War series airing on PBS, it's called "Mercy Street." I watched the pilot and it's pretty good. It's about life in a Union hospital in Alexandria Virginia, I believe.

The State of Jones by Sally Jenkins and John Stauffer. It's a historical examination piece, not a novel, just so that you're aware.
