7951260 Wait, so we should adhere to Levitacus? Not wearing mixed fabric? Not eating seafood? Is that what you're saying?

So, everything from the Old Testament is in effect? Stoning your children to death if they disobey? We should all do that? Would bashing the heads of the little ones against the stones really make me happy? I'm asking because I've never done it before, but you're clearly more experienced in this area than I am, given the brutality and hatred you keep posting.

Horus Reads the Internet

I don’t agree with everything he has to say (partly because he’s a Lutheran so we disagree on certain theology), but that doesn’t matter here. There’s a difference between certain laws, between the laws that God expects us to keep because they’re the right thing to do (not practicing homosexuality, or not murdering) and the laws given to the Israelites to set them apart as God’s chosen people, to show that the Messiah would come from among them.

but you're clearly more experienced in this area than I am, given the brutality and hatred you keep posting.

If you want me to defend the Bible and my faith, I will.

7951573 Tell me, do you keep Saturday holy as the Moral Law demands?

Are you part of capitalism that opposes the coveting law since capitalism is based on coveting?

Do you live your whole life by the rule of your parents as is commanded by 'honoring your parents' Moral Law or do you establish your own life when you're old enough?

Do you break the very first commandment and strive for wealth and success in your life?

Do you wear a cross around your neck, disobeying the 'no carved images' Moral Law?

Tell me, do you keep Saturday holy as the Moral Law demands?

I keep Saturday holy, and rest on that day. I also recognise that the Lord’s Day is also important, and rest then.

Are you part of capitalism that opposes the coveting law since capitalism is based on coveting?

Merely existing in a capitalist society is a sin? Owning a business is a sin? There’s a whole debate to be had on whether capitalism or socialism is right, but that’s a different discussion (both suck). The point is, you’re creating an easily blown-down strawman by equating capitalism to coveting, and then accusing me of breaking the law by simply living in a society that uses that system. I wouldn’t live in a capitalist society if there was a better option, but there really isn’t. An afterthought, this question is also a misunderstanding of capitalism.

Do you live your whole life by the rule of your parents as is commanded by 'honoring your parents' Moral Law or do you establish your own life when you're old enough?

Yes, I keep the fifth commandment. My parents are wise people who sought to raise me right, and helped direct my path to salvation in Christ. I cannot say I would be here if it were not for them (unless you believe in predestination). However, it seems you’re saying that simply not living your life exactly as your parents directed you to is a sin. If that’s the case, then there appears to be another scarecrow in this argument. Intentionally warping the commandment, and then taking it to the extreme is a not how you’ll win this argument.

Do you break the very first commandment and strive for wealth and success in your life?

“You shall have no other gods before me.” Hmm yes, a commandment forbidding the accumulation of all wealth. Just ignore the book of Proverbs, which teaches you life lessons including how to become successful, and also the fact that that’s not what the commandment says at all. I really don’t need to go to deep with this one. At this point I’ll ask if you even know what an idol is.

Do you wear a cross around your neck, disobeying the 'no carved images' Moral Law?

I actually don’t wear a cross around my neck. I don’t see it as necessary, and I like dressing plainly. However, once again, I’ll ask if you even know what that commandment is referring to. “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God…” Again, the passage is referring to an image you worship, an idol, a false god. This doesn’t even fit with the cross, which is a symbol of the faith, a symbol of salvation, and a symbol that represents the new covenant with Yahweh, paid for with the blood of God incarnate: Jesus Christ, our High Priest.

Lastly, even if what you’ve asserted is right: okay. I’m already a sinner, and despite my great debt of sin, it will never be greater than God’s mercy. The sacrifice of he who knew no sin, yet became sin for us, has paid my debt in full. I will continue to live knowing that because of that, I am saved. I will do my best to abstain from sin, but it is not my works, but Christ’s that save me.

It seems your information on the Christian faith has been misinformed, built on a house of misunderstandings. If you’re a Christian, please, I beg you to reconsider your faith. If you’re an atheist, I implore you to come to Christ.
