History

Witches are a race of humans who possess magic. They divorced from the non-magical world so that they could escape persecution by the non-magical people. During these years witches were forced to take refuge in forbidden and secluded parts of nature such as in deep forests, caves, swamps, deep in deserts, or in the mountains. Eventually, a certain Witch who would be known as the witch master would appear to  lead and protect the witches. years after the Witchmaster was made the ruler, the witch world decided to start getting revenge on the human world by terrorizing the humans that terrorized them out of their original dimension years ago.

Magic

The magic that Witches have comes from within them and gives them certain capabilities which includes the ability to cast spells and enchant objects and a specific power like illusion, premonition, summoning, and elemental control/creation magic. Witches cast spells either through incantations and objects like wands or orbs. Incantation spells are words that are written to specifically create/cause a supernatural effect or event. Magical objects are specifically made to hold and cast certain spells or are just merely enchanted to do something that it’s not supposed to, like flying broomsticks for example. 

Culture

Witches terrorize non-magical humans as a form of traditional revenge for all the pain and treatment they put them through. Witches don’t straight up attack their targets (unless necessary) but will often play acts of cruel mischief on them which includes;

destroying crops and poisoning livestock

Destroying or cursing property

abducting people to do whatever they want to them (maybe to use as guinea pigs for their spells and potions, or worse)

turning people into animals (or even plants, fungi, or inanimate objects if they feel like it)

giving people cursed or possessed objects that will either kill them and/or their loved ones, make them go insane, or possess them.

Scaring people

Creating discord and causing mass hysteria between people

Schools in witch world don’t teach magic and only teach the classic subjects (math, language arts, physical education, science etc.) Magical study is not something normally taught in schools but is more of a home study, Witch parents usually teach magic to their children or hire a teacher. In cases of gifted witches there are schools that teach more advanced or forbidden magic.

Witch World is naturally connected with the land of Faery and thus Witches coexist with different types of Fae such as goblins, gnomes, elves, dwarves, pixies etc. but they are treated as lower class citizens are stuck doing manual labor such as gardening, manufacturing, cooking, cleaning, construction etc. and sometimes they are even bought by wealthy witch families to be personal servants or workers.
