In an instant it occurred, a normal day interrupted by an unexplainable event that has shaken away any traces of the mundane, the friendly or the pleasant. The streets of Canterlot are foggy and abandoned with nopony in sight, nothing but yourself and the cold, haunting feeling of being utterly alone.

But that's impossible... it was just here, everypony was here, this was a normal town with wonderful ponies and stores, the capital of all Equestria and yet here you stand in the center of it now before your eyes as a dusty and ruined husk of it's former glory, with the fog blocking so much of your vision it after a while feels suffocating just to look at.

What is this? Is this still Canterlot? What's happening? And are we really alone...

2895837 Pine Talon sat in his cell deep in the dungeons of Canterlot Castle. He was deep in a meditative trance, clearing his mind as he usually did on days like today. Perhaps today, Celestia would put him in a program that would lead to his reformation. Or perhaps she hasn't decided how to deal with a being such as himself yet. It didn't matter to him either way. He understood that the Tengu Dynasty was the antithesis of Equestria. It would be hard to trust someone like him.

Just then, something snapped him out of his meditation. It was not a sound that brought him to reality, but a lack thereof. No hoofsteps of guards trotting through the corridor; not discussions between said guards or inmates; nothing. It was if the entire prison had become, empty.

Ever on-guard, Pine Talon stood up and picked up his walking stick. Every muscle in his body was tense as he waited for something to strike...

"What just happened?" asked Radar to himself.

He was just taking a quick nap, and now he felt cold, empty, and even a bit melancholy. This wasn't like him. He rose from his usual sleeping spot in the Canterlot castle- behind a Luna statue. Usually the statue was polished and gleaming with royal glory, but now...now it was old, dirty, and moss covered. The entire castle seemed to be like this.

Radar adjusted his armor which also seemed to also be older and dirty. Something wasn't right about this situation and his job as a guard was to find out what. Well first, he needed to find and secure the princesses. As he walked, his ears twitched to the sound of dripping water. Overly sensitive as always.

"Alright, let's do this." said Radar as he began to walk to the princesses' room.

Bronze slowly opened his eyes, and rose yo his hooves. The street was filled with a thick eerie fog that seemed to swirl and move in unnatural ways, but no ponies could be seen in his already limited vision.
"What th-" he stammered before being forced to stop by a head splitting pain.

He stood still taking deep breaths to dull the pain. Once his head had settled to a sharp throb he began to scan his environment. There was a fenced off garden to to the left of the road with a large statue of princess luna dominating the space. Further behind the statue was the canterlot castle. Further down the road were many stalls, The market. To his right stood abandoned buildings, covered with a thick moss and boarded up windows. Behind him was a massive wall of fog stretching to either side of the street, seemingly impervious to sight.

Bronze sighed at his situation, thinking to himself in his head, "What happened?" he asked himself. His thoughts were interrupted by the sounds of metal scraping against metal, a sound he was all to familiar with, and a voice.

"Alright, let's do this."it said

He began to speak, but remembered the migraine he was carrying still from his first attempt. The sound of metal began to fade into the distance signaling him whoever that was had since left earshot.

Sighing to himself, he began towards the market, hoping to find help, or at the very least, answers.

*cough* *cough*
Charmed burst out of the doors to Canterlot castle's under ground labs, behind him poured a 'slightly' toxic gas. "Oh, I am so *cough* fired." He had pulled another all nighter, but had fallen asleep half way through. He had been awoken by the sound of a shattering vile, the stand on which it had been resting some how corroded away. Charmed could only assume it had been exposed to volatile chemicals to put in such a state.
When the vile broke it released the gas that was now pouring out of the doorway like smoke out the entrance to a dragons cave. " On the bright side I still have my bags, and I think my fur is glowing a bit, marvelous." Charmed was picking himself up off of the gray, cracked cobblestones, when he finally got a good look at his surroundings. The smoke that poured out of the door was nothing as it joined the already smog filled sky. His eyes followed the smoke until they landed on one of the castles many towers. 'Was it just him or was that tower leaning over ever so slightly.' He continued to run his gaze down the entire length of the castle, that which used to shine white with a stunning brilliance was now gray and unsightly.
He couldn't stand the sight he looked away only to see the once shimmering gates now black, one half way off its hinges.
Charmed fell to his rump, pulled a cheese sandwich out of his pack, and muttered to himself.
"What to do? What to do?"
