She's a bit rusty when it comes to fighting, but she's still able to put up a fight.
And while she takes her job seriously, she can get a bit nervous if she fails

They can just add something to are old classic of Yuuka (i'd totally ship YuukaxMima).

Elly seems to be a Shinigami, but why she is a gatekeeper of a dreaded Youkai's mansion and not reaping/ ferrying souls is a mystery.
Perhaps she is a renegade and a fugitive?

I believe she a gatekeeper for the world of dreams. I believe that dreams can alter fate or something, so she was design to protect it. How Yuuka came into question, I will never know... unless Yuuka is older than Elly and Elly is a replacement for a former gatekeeper.

But mostly inspired by these lyrics "Border of Death":

Dream and reality become one of the same,
To spin a dream is to decide the fate of the world.

Mostly because we're never given any explanation of the Dream World and what influence it has on our world. Not to mention extra luntic hard midboss.
