Living in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of New York City, Matt Murdock is blinded by a radioactive substance that falls from an oncoming vehicle. While he no longer can see, the radioactive exposure heightens his remaining senses beyond normal human ability. His father, a boxer named Jack Murdock, supports him as he grows up, though Jack is later killed by gangsters after refusing to throw a fight. After donning a yellow and black, and later a dark red, costume, Matt seeks out revenge against his father's killers as the superhero Daredevil, fighting against his many enemies including Bullseye and the Kingpin. Daredevil's nickname is "the Man Without Fear".

Daredevil underwent intense training and has a unique style which draws from boxing, ninjitsu, judo and much more. It's an incredibly effective method, allowing him to hang with (to some degree) talented characters such as Iron Fist, Punisher, Captain America and Taskmaster. Additionally, he has an advanced knowledge on pressure points. This precise set of attacks has reduced Hammerhead to tears, and allowed him to take down powerhouses like Absorbing Man and Mr. Hyde. He might not be a master of every style, but decades of comics with his encounters have proven that his mesh of various styles absolutely works.

Daredevil has superhuman senses of smell, taste, touch, balance, and hearing. Daredevil's sense of touch is so acute that his finger can feel the faint impressions of ink on a printed page allowing him to read by touch, though laminated pages prevent him from touching and thus reading the ink impressions at a much faster pace than a normal person would be able to read. A side effect of his sense of touch is Daredevil's ability to manipulate his muscles and internal organs. The sense of touch is not just external, but internal too (central nervous system), thereby giving him the ability to have total body control, increasing his strength and reflexes to peak human levels, increasing his agility to enhanced human levels and also giving him the ability to totally numb himself to pain.

Daredevil's sense of smell is so acute that he can distinguish between identical twins at twenty feet by minute differences in smell. He can detect odors of an atmospheric concentration of thirty parts per million. Further, his ability to remember smells enables him to identify any person he has spent at least five minutes with by smell alone, no matter how he or she might try to camouflage his or her natural odor. His powers of concentration are such that he can focus upon a single person's smell and follow it through a crowd of people at a distance of fifty feet.

Daredevil's sense of hearing enables him to detect an acoustic pressure change of one decibel at a pressure level of seven decibels (whereas the lowest threshold for average human hearing is twenty decibels.) He can hear a person's heartbeat at a distance of over twenty feet, or people whispering on the other side of a standard soundproofed wall. Through practice, Daredevil is able to control his hearing acuity, mentally blocking out specific sounds like his own breathing and heartbeat, all ambient sounds to a normal human level of perception, or all sounds but a particular sound he is concentrating upon. Daredevil can also tell whether a person is lying by listening to changes in his or her heartbeat (though he can be fooled by a pacemaker or those able to control their own heartbeat.) He can also identify people by the specific patterns of their heartbeats.

Daredevil's sense of taste enables him to detect the number of grains of salt on a pretzel. His ability to remember tastes enables him to determine every ingredient of a food or drink he tastes, as long as there are at least twenty milligrams of that substance present.

It is a common misconception that balance isn't a sense, but Daredevil's balance centers give him equilibrium on par with Spider-Man.

Daredevil can also sense the proximity and arrangement of objects about himself. According to one theory, Daredevil's "radar sense" functions via his brain's generation of energy within a certain portion of the electromagnetic spectrum. The signal emanates from sending regions of his brain, after which it travels outward, bounces off objects around him, and returns to receiving regions of his brain. Another theory is that this sense functions more closely to sonar in which Daredevil hears the faint echoes of sounds as they bounce off nearby objects. His sense may operate by a combination of these techniques or by other, unknown means. In any event, via this ability, Daredevil synthesizes a very close analogue of three-dimensional human sight. After he lost the Radar, Matt's instructor Stick retaught him his Radar/Senses through special training. Stick told Matt the radiation gave him a "free ride" but now he must develop it like everyone else. Its resolution is not very fine, probably on the order of several feet at a distance of one hundred feet. By re-positioning his head and adding input from his other senses, Daredevil is able to resolve the image of an average flagpole (three-inch cylinder) at a distance of over eighty feet.

Due to training from his mentor Stick, Daredevil has displayed minor telepathic abilities.

Richard 'Nightwing' Grayson! The Former Boy Wonder!

Dick Grayson was a twelve-year-old circus acrobat, the youngest of a family act called The Flying Graysons of The Haley Circus. Dick joined the act at a very young age, having been trained in acrobatics from birth. While on tour in Gotham City, he overheard "Boss" Tony Zucco, a well-known and feared crime-lord, threaten the performers unless the circus's owner paid extortion money. The owner refused, and that night Dick watched in horror as his parents' high wire snapped, sending his parents hurtling to their deaths, all while many of Gotham's elite watched on. Young Dick felt responsible, because he didn't warn his parents in time.

However, little did young Dick know that this was secretly a blessing in disguise! Because of what happened, the young boy was adopted by Batman and, as such, was rescued from recruitment by the secret society known as 'the Court of Owls', a deadly coalition of Gothamite land holders with an army of near immortal assassins at their beck and call.

Over the course of the next 10 years or so, the young man assumed the titles of 'Robin, the boy wonder', 'Nightwing', protector of Bludhaven, Gotham's bastard younger sibling, and has even taken the title of 'Batman' himself, taking the original's son as his side kick and operating as the head Batman for a while in Bruce Wayne's 'Batman Inc.'.

Nightwing has no powers 'technically', but that has or will never stop him from fighting the good fight. Being trained by the Gosh Darned Batman also helps.

As a result of all of his training at the hands of Bruce Wayne over the years, Dick Grayson has developed a near legendary reputation as a fighter, being able to fight on even terms with the big black bat on more than one occasion, not to mention beating Slade 'Deathstroke the terminator' Wilson several times in the past. He's mastered almost a dozen fighting styles over the years including ninjitsu, akido, boxing, judo, and capoeira, making him an extremely adept fighter, even having the worlds deadliest assassin, Lady Shiva, come after him.

Though he doesn't plan out confrontations near to the point that his mentor and father, Bruce Wayne, he does rely on a much more fluid style of crime fighting, preferring speed and adaptability to his mentor's crazy preparedness. Though he is still nearly as smart as his mentor, with almost all the detective skills too, this has made him much more of a hassle to fight than most villains would like to admit, even earning him the respect of enough villains to want to avenge him should Nightwing get killed.

It's no small secret that Dick Grayson is one of the greatest acrobats in the DCU, either. Known to impress Superman himself at his skill and outshine Batman himself, Dick is one of the only people alive that can perform a quadruple back flip. But his skills don't stop there! As a result of his training from Hell, Dick Grayson is able to detect snipers and dodge bullets, a more than daunting task given how fast bullets generally are! He's also one of the few people capable of lifting nearly as much as Batman, marking his top at 1000 lbs in a dire emergency.

Equipment: If Batman was a Ninja, then Nightwing makes him look like a turtle. Having Wayne Enterprises resources helps more than a little in his crusade against crime, giving him access to a lighter version of Batman's own armor, a suit made out of electrical insulated, fire proof, triple weaved Kevlar to protect him from gunfire. Not only that, but it's been treated to actually protect him against more lighted areas, darkening as a result.

He also makes use of two eskrima sticks, combining into a staff and, in occasional continuity, having electrocuting tips. He's also armed with wingdings, his own versions of Batarangs.

Daredevil wields a multi-purpose weapon that has many different modes. It's initial form is two billy clubs held together by an extendable cable. It can shift from a nunchaku- like weapon to a manrikigusari (a long rope/chain weapon with two weights on its ends), dual billy clubs which can be wielded in an Eskrima-like fashion, staff, or a cable with a grappling hook. The weapon can also be adjusted to combine both sticks into an Eskrima stick. Most notably, the billy club can be disguised as a blind man's cane, for use by DD's alter ego, Matthew Murdock. The weapon is held by a holster on the side of Daredevil's left leg.

Daredevil has also been very thoroughly trained in the ninja arts by Stick, a senior master and member of the secret order The Chaste. Nick Fury, former director of S.H.I.E.L.D, commented that there are only a handful of individuals that know what Matt Murdock knows, referring to the Chaste. Stick helped Daredevil control his powers and taught him valuable fighting techniques with stealth, vanishing, to even life-energy(chi/ki)control. Matt is well educated in the functioning of the human body as well as martial arts techniques that target pressure points enabling him to paralyze limbs of an individual's body or the entire body altogether. He's disabled eye sight, speech, induced pain, and even has knowledge of pressure points inducing death. Daredevil's fighting style blends Boxing with Ninjutsu, Judo/Jujutsu and Aiki-Jujutsu, but he had been trained in several styles of Kung Fu, Savate, various styles of Karate, Muay Thai, Hapkido, Filipino martial & stick fighting arts, and Capoeira to varying degrees by Stick to compliment Matt's strengths as he has been seen employing other sophisticated techniques such as jumping and ground-level kicks and jumping takedowns. Being that Ninjutsu seems to be the martial art that Matt seems to have mastered the most, he more than likely possesses at least a grandmastership level rank black belt(at least 10th degree)in Ninjutsu. His skills have proven so exceptional so as to enable him to easily defeat or stalemate some of the greatest fighters on Earth. He has fought opponents such as the Black Panther, Taskmaster, Sabretooth, and Wolverine to standstills, even impaling Wolverine with a sword while the mutant was in a feral state due to brainwashing by the terrorists known as Hydra.

Daredevil is classed as a superb-Olympic athlete, gymnast, acrobat, and aerialist due to constant training and exercise since his preteens. His reflexes and agility are equally remarkable and are on par with the finest human athletes.

He is also dead on accurate in throwing most projectile-like weaponry along with his sticks.
Matt is an expert in wielding all types of stick weapons which include staffs, batons, nunchaku, and paired short sticks due to training from Stick.

For a "normal" human, Matt has demonstrated remarkable physical strength. Daredevil is an Olympic-level weightlifter and possesses the normal human strength of a man of his age, height, and build that exercises intensively and regularly. Matt has demonstrated that he can lift and handle a 400 lbs. barbell as though it were fifty pounds, has overturned a limo full of people, and has picked up and used a mail drop-box as a blunt instrument. At his peak, Daredevil possesses sufficient strength to press lift approximately 450 lbs.

considering Daredevil super senses , and the whole "ki technique" stuff
he has a slight advantage on Nightwing.
he could easily kill or incapacitate him by targeting his pressure points.

but Nightwing has been trained by Batman , as an excellent fighter and a good tactician
Daredevil's "radar sense" can be tricked if he gets electrocuted by Nightwing .
this won't be the first time that Nightwing fight someone as deadly as Daredevil (Deathstroke for example)
so i think Nightwing will win (and i'm not saying that just because i'm a big fan of Nightwing)

It would depend on what tech they were allowed in the fight. If they were allowed tech them I recon Nightwing would win as he could us Daredevil's super senses against him (eg using a sonic device that would cause daredevil pain due to his sensitive hearing) but without the tech I think daredevil would win.

THEN IT'S TIME FOR A DEATH BATTLE!!!

The man without fear jumps onto the top of a building in the middle of a city, Nightwing turning around to face him.

FIGHT!

Nightwing opens up with three wingdings, Daredevil dodging them effortlessly, using the sound of them switshing through the air to pinpoint where Nightwing is. He takes out his billy clubs and begins to attack him.

Nightwing is fast though, and is able to block many of the moves with his eskrima sticks. Daredevil begins losing a small amount of ground due to his oppenents superior strength and formidable speed and disengages, rolling to the side and throwing his clubs at Nightwing, grazing his shoulder but other wise leaving the young man unharmed.

Daredevil retrieves his clubs and now the two circle each other, now having a good enough idea of their oppenents fighting style and movements.

Daredevil takes off running. Nightwing follows.

For several buildings they play a game of le parqor cat and mouse, until Daredevil turns around to 'see' several more wingdings flying at him. He side steps each on of them, but barely dodges a Kevlar coated fist impacting his face. He grimaces as he realizes that he just got played.

He wipes of the blood from his face and shifts his billy clubs into staff mode, while Nightwing does the same. They engage each other once more, trading blows and bruises all over the others body.

Daredevil goes for a strike to the head, going to nunchaku form at the last second, buffeting Nightwing with two blows to head.

Nightwing staggers back, now wiping the blood from his own head, his head no disoriented and his vision blurry. Then it occurs to him that the fighter in red had just struck a minor pressure point.

Closes his eyes, and focuses and the Devil smiles, know that this fighter was now in playing field. He shifts his nunchaku into kasurigama mode and tries to go in for a kill, only to feel his attack dodges and a sharp feeling of electrocution in his stomach.

Nightwing continues with a more than punishing flurry of attacks from his eskrima sticks, the devil barely able to keep up, but blocking each and every one of them. In a desperate bid, he slashes at Nightwing's lower right leg, stopping the assualt dead and buying the man in red enough time to escape and reassess the situation.

The chase begins a new, though Nightwing is now hurting an Daredevil senses are going highwire.

Several more wingdings fly at the Devil, causing him to performs a back flip and dodge them all for a third time. He expects another attack, but one doesn't come, so he calms his breathing and listens to the sounds of the city to try and find his worthy adversary.

Nightwing awaits in the shadows, the wound in his right leg in pain, but not anything he hasn't fought with before. He slows his breathing to a near standstill watches the man in red in perfect silence and stillness. Then he makes his move.

Several more wingdings appear from the darkness, Daredevil back-flipping away from them with ease, smiling as the expected assault arrives. He dodges Nightwing's kick, but not his electrified eskrima, his senses once again going wrong. Nightwing is as lucky, suffering another cut on his right arm, this one deeper than the one on his leg. Daredevil runs for it again, but Nightwing follows much closer.

He follows him as he jumps from a skyscraper, the man in black now on top of the man in red. They trade several blows, though Nightwing's armor takes much more punishment than Daredevil's.

He extends his billy club to a winder washer stand on an adjacent building, but the line is cut by a wingding before it makes contact. Nightwing follows suit, firing a grapling hook to a building with one hand and catching the devil with an electrified eskrima with another.

On the way up, Daredevil is punished by a flurry of lightning fast strikes from Nightwing and by the time they finally make it up to the roof of the next building, Daredevil is on his stomach, listening as Nightwing walks over, limping.

He once more combines his two esrikma into a staff, sets the charge to full power, and smashes the Daredevil's head in.

WINNER: DICK 'NIGHTWING' GRAYSON

In a very respectable match up, Matt Murdock was able to more than hold his own against Dick in close range combat, but while this allowed him to fight on even terms, what he wasn't able counter was Dick's armor, making pressure point fighting nearly useless. Combine that Dick's strategic/instinctual approach to combat and his specialty as an acrobat, and he was able to win the fight.

I thought that I'd end up giving it to Daredevil, due to his senses and having a weapon meant for killing, but the more I thought about it, the more I came to realize that armor, once again, makes the difference.
