When a story goes to the farm, what happens at the farm from their perspective? Do any stories conflict with the mane fic? Here are some of my notes, organized chronologically! Speculation and interpolation are in parenthesis (as opposed to what a source literally says, these are additional notes to explain how it might fit there). I will blackout everything that’s not the mane fic. I will avoid heavy spoilers for the other fics in the blacked out text regardless.

Feel free to correct me or ask questions! I am heavily biased. You don’t have to stick to any of this when writing your stories. Think of this as optional structure you can use if you need a guideline to get through this part. Ignore or tweak anything as needed. The only one I would say try to follow is the original story (but nopony is stopping you! It’s all fanfiction!). 

Some times or dates might not match what's in their original story. Sometimes, they're ambiguous and can go anywhere, as long as they're in the order from their story. (I anchor them to known events.) Other times, their story contradicts the mane fic’s timeline so I’ve adjusted them in order to line them up with other stories. I will not note these just so things stay clean. If you see an event you want to include in your fic, go to the original story for more information. Just ask if you can’t find it!  

The first date is the original timeline that a lot of fanfics use. The second date is the updated timeline. A lot of stories that reach the date of the Sonic Rainboom either ignore what the date is by the Sonic Rainboom, fit either timeline because there’s vague timeskips or don’t fit either timeline because it’s about telling a good story first. These dates are just names for the days!

• May 20th / May 10th

  • The Sonic Rainboom happens over Des Moines, Iowa around 9 am. It is visible for hundreds of miles and is on most major news broadcasts. Even six hours later there are still a few bits of rainbow hue around the western horizon from the farm. Rainbow Dash flies east from the city towards the Mississippi river.

• May 21st / May 11th

  • Early Afternoon

    • The CMC including Babs Seed arrive on the farm with Angie in the early afternoon. They are the first. Scootaloo follows Dash around like a lost puppy.
    • The Last Crusade: Rarity and Sweetie Belle have some time alone to reunite

  • Late Afternoon

    • Berry Punch and her daughter (Ruby Pinch) arrive along the road, running into Applejack and Rarity putting up the sign, they’re taken to get food
    • Blossomforth and Cloudkicker fly in, running into Rainbow Dash and being brought into the house
    • Berry Punch and her daughter eat in the kitchen
    • Ruby Pinch gets taken by Scootaloo and Babs Seed to go meet Apple Bloom (as per Five Score and One For The Road)
    • Berry Punch, Cloud Kicker and Blossomforth get set up in the barn (as per Five Score and One For The Road)
    • Dust on the Wind: Soarin arrives to check out the farm, meets Applejack, but doesn’t stay

    • Berry Punch and Ruby Pinch go have a tea party with Fluttershy (as per Five Score and One For The Road)

      • Rarity fixed Berry Punch’s saddle bag and cleaned Ruby’s plushie at some point before this, they’ve met the rest of the ponies on the farm prior to meeting Fluttershy (as per Five Score and One For The Road)

  • Evening

    • During dinner that evening, (Sunshower) Raindrops arrives at the door. During dessert, Fluttershy brings Sunshine Cloud and Lemon Hearts inside

      • Five Score and One For The Road: The mane fic characters are now taking turns watching for newcomers. Someone stays near the front of the house/on the porch and another patrols the perimeter or entrance. During dinner, Twilight is on the porch and Fluttershy is patrolling.

• May 22nd / May 12th

  • Overnight

    • In the morning Twilight tells Dash that Colgate, Braeburn, Diamond Tiara, Caramel, Daisy, Lotus, Lyra, Trixie showed up overnight

      • A New Hive: Trixie arrived with Chrysalis but made herself known alone, Chrysalis stayed back
      • Five Score and One For The Road: Colgate is Minuette. Lyra is said to have been picked up only recently on the road. All of them sleep in the barn, except Braeburn and Diamond Tiara sleep outside in a tent. Rarity was on the porch and Shining Armor was watching the road. When the new ponies arrive, AJ and Big Mac take over and Shining Armor and Rarity go take a walk together
      • A New Hive: Shining Armor and Rarity run into Chrysalis hiding out in the trees, Chrysalis saw ponies settling in, some setting up tents

  • Morning

    • By this point in the mane fic, it’s safe to assume we don’t know all of the ponies who are on the farm. Events today: 

      • Bon Bon arrived at some point before Queen Chrysalis’s entrance, because she calls her “The Queen of Evil!”

      • Lightning Dust shows up and talks with Rainbow Dash

        • Dust on the Wind: three buses arrive with ponies from the Montana farm, presumably around when Dust does, after Dash and Dust talk, Dust heads for the roof to be alone with her thoughts

      • Queen Chrysalis makes her entrance and is escorted by Shining Armor then Rainbow Dash inside

        • A New Hive: there is a giant moving semi-trailer truck parked on the farm, Chrysalis is normally in disguise at the farm as Chris, a normal looking human man with three children with his fiance Liz
      • Chrysalis is off to see Twilight and Applejack who are inside the farmhouse servicing a fan for the barn
      • Shining and Fluttershy are orienting the new ponies and Applejack asked Rainbow to do the same

  • Afternoon

    • In Five Score And One For The Road: Berry Punch, Ruby Pinch, Minuette, Harmony Trebleheart and Little Horn wait on the porch for friends to arrive

  • Near Sunset

    • In Five Score: A Velvet Nightfall: Twilight Velvet, Rainbow Blaze, the rest of the rangers and Feather Punch and Feather Pinch have arrived, they spot Berry Punch with her daughter

    • In Five Score And One For The Road: Comet Tail and Carrot Top arrive with a truck of food and family nick-nacks

      • Five Score And One For The Road: calls out vehicles in LittleHorn’s stories and Good Griff! suggesting characters from those stories have arrived

  • Nightfall

    • “Over half of the ponies who have arrived are sleeping outside”, the mane characters have met “ponies from over thirty states and three countries”, ponies arrived via hoof, wing and automobile

      • They mention Vinyl Scratch, so she arrived some time today

        • Five Score and One For The Road: Octavia is there with Vinyl Scratch

  • Night

    • King Sombra shows up via car with mafia members from Chicago and wishes to talk to Applejack

• May 23rd - May 25th / May 13th

  • Morning

    • Five Score And One For the Road: One Cloud Lane, a giant cloud house found in various stories by Little Horn, arrives, full of pegasi

  • Noon

    • The Last Crusade: Fluttershy and Sweetie Belle have a heart-to-heart talk that day
    • Five Score And One For The Road: A giant free-for-all soccer game has apparently broken out. Mostly full of foals and older ponies trying to provide some structure. Shining Armor is present for it

    • A New Hive: Digit, Chrysalis’s changeling daughter gets chased off by Shining Armor after allegedly playing tag with Berry Punch’s daughter

      • Five Score And One For the Road: supports this, suggests they started playing tag during the soccer game

  • Afternoon

    • Little Horn harasses Rainbow Dash and mentions Equestria Girls and the portal

    • The Last Crusade: Fluttershy helps Rarity create more cots, pillows and blankets in the barn. Cloud Kicker and Derpy help. Daring Do arrives and spends time resting in the barn.

      • This Daring Do is StrayanPhoenix’s Daring Do from Earning Wings Of A Different Nature per the Author’s Note

  • Evening 

    • Five Score And One For The Road: Bonfires break out, ponies cook, share food and snacks, sing songs, play music and tell stories around the fires, intermingling as they do
    • A New Hive: Daring Do tells her ‘Five Score’ story around a camp fire, Chrysalis listens to it and runs off to lay eggs as soon as it’s finished. This is the moment Shining Armor discovers the moving truck full of changeling eggs she’s been hiding

    • Shining Armor mistakenly makes out with a changeling in disguise, Chrysalis comes to get them

      • A New Hive: Same scene plays out, changeling in question is Digit whom Shining yelled at earlier
    • Princess Celestia arrives that night, walking up to the farmhouse and inside to talk to Twilight
    • A New Hive: When Celestia teleports away, she teleports just out in the woods and talks with Chrysalis for a bit

• May 24th - May 27th / May 14th - May 15th

  • “A day or so later…”

  • Morning

    • The Last Crusade: Apple Bloom has apparently been spending a lot of time in the house’s basement organizing supplies. Pinkie Pie is down there with her often too. Sweetie Belle goes to apologize at this time. 
    • Five Score And One For The Road: Vinyl Scratch gets permission from Applejack to hold a ‘little music concert’ tonight, the entire farm would be involved and be activities for everyone, Pinkie Pie is helping her. Likely a good cover for AJ and friends to head to Dubuque? Chris goes out to get the supplies, which is what he did in A New Hive as well

  • Afternoon

    • A New Hive: Trixie and Chrysalis are magic training in the woods
    • Five Score and One For The Road: Pinkie Pie organizes games and fun including cream pies and water balloons, focusing on fun for the foals. Nathan and others help her. Carrot Top focuses on teaching some cooking. Blossomforth helps. Minuette and Berry Punch help setup the barn. Berry Punch and Chris help setup the barn. Berry helps make drinks and get drunk in the barn while music plays: live and fandom music.

  • Night

    • Five Score and One For The Road: Berry Punch wanders off to get drunk with ponies from Little Horn’s stories, comes back to see the party packing up, is told to get to bed. Many ponies are going to bed as soon as after the party, they seem to know about the rumor about the portal

  • Right Before Midnight

    • The Mane Six gather and then sneak off to head to Dubuque to check if the portal is there. The Cutie Mark Crusaders secretly follow
    • In A New Hive: Chrysalis asks Shining Armor in the farmhouse about the others and is told about the plan to go to the portal. She disappears into the moving van with Liz to hatch all the eggs (in the story this takes place earlier in the day, but it has to be pretty late to fit the main story)
    • The Last Crusade: the CMC are trying to convince ponies to go help stop Discord, they’re not getting many takers. Apparently many ponies are apathetic or scared. (possibly the ponies still awake are the reluctant ones.) Sweetie Belle talks with Shining Armor who says he’s going to see what he can do to encourage ponies to join the cause. The CMC head out before seeing what he’s going to do.

• May 28th / May 16th

  • Around 1 AM

    • Twilight and Sweetie Belle reactivate the portal to Equestria, they let Shining Armor and Big Mac still at the farm know
    • In Five Score And One For The Road: most ponies were tipped off about what the Mane Six were doing, between Fluttershy apparently telling a few ponies and the CMC tipping off others. So they awaken after midnight, getting naps in and many are preparing hot chocolate and coffee and a few snacks while they wait for news. Buses, vans, and many vehicles packed and assembled. Many, many ponies leave, some even by hoof, but not necessarily all of them leave
    • The Last Crusade had Dash tell Scootaloo about where they’re going

    • In A New Hive: Shining Armor lets the ponies who are awake and waiting know where they’re all going. Chrysalis offers to be air support and will use their semi-trailer for transporting ponies

      • In Five Score And One For The Road: Berry Punch and Co along with many, many other unnamed ponies and some humans take them up on this offer. (Incidental cameo ponies Cherry Cloud from a Little Horn story and Thunderlane apparently from Changing Anatomies.) 
    • In Five Score: A Velvet Nightfall, witness Big Mac and Shining Armor give a speech to ponies at farm. The US Rangers offer to use the JLTVs to also transport ponies
