How do I develop an oc with inability to feel (What's a term for that?) to be able to have some ability to feel emotions? It wouldn't be easy obviously. But how would I slowly envelope him into an ability to feel? I wanted to say maybe he starts feeling emotions around a mare, who he falls in love with. When he realizes how love feels.

The best way to get around the issue of "element never felt before being introduced in a story" is to research real-life cases, or think of any interesting twist. Interesting twists are the best.

I'll help you along with the research bit...I've got a friend in school who's diagnosed with insomnia, insanity, a whole list of other things that go on and on, but most importantly, sociopathism. He has a personality disorder that limits his ability to feel, specifically, his ability to connect with others.

However.

He's gotten a lot better through his girlfriend, with her trying to explain different emotions to him and him slowly...ever so slowly...catching on.

People like the OC that you want to create are very logical thinkers, very quick to catch on to whatever has reason. However, feelings are going to take time. If explained and connected to anything logical, though, even the most hardy of anti-socialists will catch on in a jiffy.

Hope this helps! If not, yep, I'm a rambler, I know XD. Though, I try.

5066480 if you've ever seen BBC's Sherlock, I think you'll find a good example of a non-feeling character growing to have feelings due to the influence of others.

5066625 Well, my next piece of advice would be to research any person who suffers from sociopathic tendencies first. They are known for their lack of emotion psyche. You may also want to look up several psychologists' ideas on emotional well-being.

If you want your character to slowly realize what he is doing is "feeling," then I would recommend a few things. First, have him or her be so blatantly cold and logical, to a point of bluntness. That usually is the kind of vibe people get from people who don't feel. Now, if your character is pushed into a situation where feeling would occur, then perhaps he or she would first look at it from an analytical and logical perspective. That's usually the response "emotionless" people give in a certain scenario.
