Hello! While planning out future fic ideas, I came up with an interesting one. It's an HIE crossover with Will Eisner's classic, The Spirit

A good portion of the fic has flashbacks back to The Spirit's, aka Denny Colt's childhood being adopted and raised by The Pies, The Apples, Twilight's parents, or Celestia, and the impact they have had on his life as a crimefighter, and what lessons they have taught him.

The kicker is that these potential families think Denny, the youngest sibling in the case of the Mane Six related families, has died after an encounter with a mad scientist named Doctor Cobra during his time as a beat cop in Canterlot. As the potential families deal with the loss of their son, Denny reinvents himself as The Spirit, a vigilante that fights criminals and villains The Royal Guards and police cannot touch while fighting an assortment of nasty rogues such as The Octopus, a criminal mastermind and Denny's arch-enemy, Mr. Carrion, a nasty con-man and transient with a pet vulture, Dusk, a deranged collector of the bizarre and morbid, and the sinister Mr. Midnight, a former actor turned deranged supervillain with an obsession with Outer Space.

The caveat is that Denny thinks he can never reveal his survival to his family, thinking it'll put them, and his crusade, in jeopardy.

Based on this description, who do you think would be the most interesting adopted family for Denny Colt, aka The Spirit?

The most interesting adopted family are Twilight's parents.

Maybe celestia since she found him possibly before Luna came back since she thinks he died she has no family left except for Candace.

But the other ones do sound interesting especially the sparkle family and how they deal with it

My idea is that Denny lost his parents in some type of accident. In Celly's case she literally pulls Denny out of a wrecked car that killed his parents. In Twilight Velvet's case Denny's parents died in some type of industrial accident and Denny was sent to live in a orphanage. Velvet volunteered at the Orphanage Denny was staying and the two grew close to the point Velvet decided to adopt him, though haven't decided if it's a spur of a moment thing that she didn't tell Night Light about or if Night Light approved of the adoption as well.

Either way, Denny has to deal with the fact he can now probably never see his family ever again, atleast until Twi or Celly figures out The Spirit is Denny.
