I can't get the logistics of the outfit down. If that is in fact a turtleneck sweater that HW has on, why is she wearing it under her blouse? Wouldn't that be itchy? If it's a scarf, where are the other ends of it? I'm really coming up zeroes here, and that's above and beyond all my failed attempts to find a purple blazer.

It's probably a turtleneck shirt, not a sweater.

Skywriter
Group Admin

It's like three layers! In a crowded convention hall, that's almost as bad as a fursuit. And Heaven forfend you try to put on a fursuit plus the required three layers of clothing. You aren't thinking of doing that, are you? Because you'd never find a purple blazer that fit over an entire pony suit. You might as well construct the garment itself from whole cloth, literally.

Skywriter
Group Admin

I'm not sure I could afford a custom purple blazer.

Skywriter
Group Admin

718968
But you're considering the fursuit?

Skywriter
Group Admin

718970
Well, yeah, the fursuit is a given. But a custom blazer can be pricey.

Skywriter
Group Admin

Guys, this is the OP here, and I just want to clarify that I am not doing this in fursuit, because I don't want to look like a freak. I just want to wear a purple blazer and pretend that I'm a girl pony.

What stone is that on the earrings?

718972

Amethyst, possibly?
Or maybe it's just a plastic (?) bauble

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the the lovely Harshwhinny's earrings are gold or brass with a purple enamel in the center. It is possible to get a turtleneck without the rest of the shirt; it's an old lady thing. Best of luck with Best Pony.....

Yeah, furries are freaky. I read that they go to conventions and do drugs.

horizon
Group Contributor

719335 that's not true im a furry and i've never done drugs at the first furry convention i went to or a lot of the ones since

please don't be so judgmental

we just like to look at porn of people that have animal tails the way everyone does

horizon

719339
Get out of here and stop polluting our pony fan group with your animal-appreciating ways.

Guys, can we keep this on-topic? We're not here to talk about furries, we're here to tremble in adoration at Miss Harshwhinny's distant and cruel and ambiguously loving hooves.

Besides, furries have nothing to do with sex or drugs. I read that they run around in the woods whacking each other with giant foam swords.

horizon
Group Contributor

719339
That's kind of cool, you being a furry and everything, maybe you can answer some questions for me.

Is it true that there are actually lots of furries that aren't into furry sex, or being Otherkin, or mind-altering substances, and are just there because they like animated cartoons and the harmless escapism of role-playing a character so removed from their daily lives? Because that kinda creeps me out. I mean, what do they see in it once all the weird stuff is subtracted? How could anyone simply enjoy the innocence and simplicity of children's stories? :twilightoops:

horizon

719342 i have every right to be here just as like the rest of you since harshwhinny is best pony cmon give me a bro hoof?

horizon
Group Contributor

719377
Miss Lovingcup Harshwhinny would not "bro-hoof" a piece of filth like you. She would be too busy with her important IEGC job to deal with such distractions. We should follow her example.

horizon
Group Contributor

Seriously guys stop threadjacking or I will have to call a mod.

Wait, who's mod now that Skywriter stepped down?

horizon
Group Contributor

719359
No, you're getting furries and LARPers confused. LARPers are the ones who go to conventions and do drugs. Furries sit around tables and roll dice.

719381 Skywriter stepped up, read the forum thread.

horizon
Group Contributor

719367 i think there are a lot who just like dressing up in costume and your right thats a little freaky can you imagine being on drugs inside a hot and heavy suit while watching cartoons standing in a pouring rainstorm while your friends are yelling at you from the living room that they need money to tip the pizza delivery guy and your next door neighbor has locked herself out of the house and now she's screaming because she went around the corner and there you are leaning against the fence dressed like a two-legged giraffe and maybe shes a little high too because she came by when you were passing around the joint before you got into costume and probably just lost her key in the couch cushions but you wont find it until tomorrow and by then someone has already called the cops and your roommate had to flush the rest of your stash and everyone in a uniform is awfully friendly but their giving you that look like this is going on your permanent record

because i've never done that

horizon
Group Contributor

719390
Wait, so Horizon's a LARPer?

horizon
Group Contributor

719399 Wait, wait. This is all sounding way too familiar. Was this last week? Were you wearing a purple blazer?

horizon
Group Contributor

719409 ummmmmmmmmm

hypothetically speaking

no

it was more of a turtleneck

horizon
Group Contributor

719412
Oh. :fluttershysad: I was getting all excited. I thought that was you for a second. But really, what would the odds have been?

horizon
Group Contributor

GUYS, I'M SERIOUS, STOP THREADJACKING NOW

I mean, I don't want to keep you from talking about the whole cosplaying-in-the-rain-doing-illegal-substances-and-locking-yourself-out-of-the-house-and-calling-the-cops thing — I certainly sympathize, that happened to me back in 2012 — but that's a lot more suited to private messages.

Skywriter
Group Admin

719425
For Pete's sake, let Skywriter do the modding.

horizon
Group Contributor

719446
Are you serious? You're telling me you're alright with Horizon and Horizon and Horizon completely derailing a thread which is supposed to be about helping a fellow brony dress up like Harshwhinny, but the instant I try to save Skywriter a little effort and keep things on topic, I'm the bad guy?

:facehoof:

That's it. I don't know why I bother. It was bad enough when Skywriter dragged this group through the mud with the whole Beowulf thing. I was trying to give Skywriter a chance to refocus things on Best Pony Ever, but I now see that even he won't be able to save this group from itself. I quit.

Wow, looks like someone got a Grendel in their cornflakes this morning.

He'll be back. Just needs to let off some steam.

Don't make me invoke Godwin's Law on you…

Skywriter

719845
No, actually, I do need the moderation help. I can't even figure out how to delete a post or a thread. The best I can think of to do is make about twelve different sockpuppet accounts just to downvote a comment into "hidden" status. Not gonna go there; not only is it inefficient, I don't want to go around pretending I'm multiple people.

horizon
Group Contributor

720171
... Really? Well, if people are genuinely willing to appreciate my contributions I guess I can stick around.

Deleting posts is a little involved, but easy once you get the hang of it. Here, move your mouse over my name in this post. Do you see the "Make Moderator" checkbox? Just go ahead and click on that, it'll give me temporary mod powers just for this thread, and I can walk you through it.

horizon
Group Contributor

720171 Thanks! I've PMed you the instructions on post and thread deletion, and so you can see how it's done I got rid of that stupid spam "Literary Analysis of Beowulf vs. Games Ponies Play" thread. Not like anyone wants to read about Beowulf here anyway.

I guess you can de-mod me now, although I should ask first: would anyone have any problems with Skywriter keeping me on as a secondary moderator? I think it would be really useful to have a second set of eyes helping keep threads furry-free and on-topic.

Well, I was expecting to step down but public opinion seems pretty unanimous. Of course, the final decision is totally up to you.

Skywriter
Group Admin

720318
Look, I don't care that I don't see a single dissenting opinion up there, I spent six hours on the anchor post for that literary analysis thread. SIX HOURS. And you deleted it so hard that no-one even got notification that the thread had been created. I'm sorry, if you're deleting things so profoundly that it's actually going back in time and changing history, I have to call a halt to this. At this rate, we'll all be slaves to talking dinosaurs soon.

Skywriter
Group Admin

720412
i'm already a slave to a talking dinosaur

Skywriter
Group Admin

720414
Were you before this afternoon when Horizon started fzcking with things? Because if you weren't, I'm PMing Poultron.

Skywriter
Group Admin

720425
If Horizon is changing history, Sky would always have been a slave to a talking dinosaur if he now is one. This is a pointless line of inquiry. Can we stay on topic and not get sidetracked by a single poster's increasingly-unnerving powers to rewrite the nature of causality itself?

Skywriter
Group Admin

720425, 720428
guys, it's ok, i've always been this way.

Skywriter

720429
Did you not read my post? That's the point!
