So that's what Babs Seed is up to.

And Pinkie Pie's family are with Earthborn, makes sense I suppose.

Ha! Pipsqueak the Pirate!

So Lemon Heart is the Overseer of the Canterlot slave dome, but she supports the anti-slavery act? Kind of contradictory for her.

Also great now I can use this for inspiration for my own story.:pinkiehappy:

2133838
I guess you've never had a job which you disliked doing :P

Besides, this only means that the slaves working under her have it easier.

Think we should make this a sticky thread, too? A canon explanation for (most) canon characters seems like it'd be pretty useful in the near future.

Also, Screwball being a prophet. CALLED IT!

Why is MS has slaves if they have anti-slavery laws?

And a slaver that is a supporter for their abolition of slavery. Weird.

Magister Lemon Hearts – overseer of the Canterlot slave domes, supporter of the Anti-Slavery Act

2133876
Uhh, Princess Cadence created the Anti-Slavery act but it doesn't mean it passed Twilight's judgement.
Till it passes, there's no way but to continue down the path of slavery, unless you enjoy being tortured by the Inquisition.

2133850
Thanks for the clarification
P.S. Where is Bonbon?

2134079
...

lel, I knew I forgot somepony:twilightblush:
Quick! It's your chance to suggest something! Where the hell should I put her?

So, Doctor Whooves is still canon in the EQDivided universe. Awesome.

Someone really wanted to see MandoPony burned at he stake.

2134141
I suggest that Bonbon died, why else would Lyra be in the Cult of Laughter?

So, the slave domes thing is canon. This anti-slavery act convinces me Cadance is still a good mare despite everything. But still not sure if she is the one who founded the second class citizen system?
Also, poor Dinky Doo... :fluttercry:

2133309

Sir Gustav La Grande

It should be "Gustave Le Grand" in french. "La Grande" implies it's a female name.

MandoPony – burned at the stake by the Celestial Inquisition during the Hoofington Crisis

MandoPony

:ajbemused:

Bon Bon is with the changlings?

I guess Dinky's death made Derpy snapped:derpyderp2:

2133992
I still find odd, that a major slaver and overseer of the slave domes would be abolitionist. I tend to think that kind of person would not be put in charge of the slaves oversight on a national level.

2134997
You're assuming that she was put in charge of the domes AFTER Cadence came up with the idea for the Anti-Slavery act, when it was exactly the opposite.

I still don't understand how Twilight came to lead the House itself, instead of being limited to the guilds. I can't imagine Shning letting her rule the House just because she's his sister :unsuresweetie:

What makes her de facto and Shining de jure? Is she threatening them with something like letting Spike rampage across the city if she doesn't call the shots? How much of her power is due to the Inquisition? How the hell did she get veto power over the legislation? What we know about her rise/fall so far doesn't really explain how she ended up at the top of the chain of command.

2134141 It does make sense for Bon Bon to be suffering or dead so Lyra will fit the pattern of losing a loved one. But how about putting her as a slave in M&S, none of the noteworthy charactersare actual slaves so it would be good to have a recognisable character as one and could also serve as lyra's motivations. Before this I always imagined Lyra in M&S keeping Bon Bon as a slave because it was the best way to protect her. You get the final say but those are my two cents.

2135291
I think you forget that Twilight's magic power and skills dwarf her brother's. He also proved to be against Celestia and Luna, putting all of those who worship the two sisters against him.

I love how most depictions of Bon-Bon relate to her having a relationship with Lyra. I'm not against the pairing, but there are more options available.
I like the idea of her going to the Changelings. Maybe she was a sleeper agent for one of the monarchs?

2135537 I can't remember Shining Armor being against Celestia and Luna, at least not in a public manner that would create the backlash you speak of. As it is, with Shining being the head of the military forces in the country, he has everything he needs to keep a single, powerful unicorn in check, even if she is the Element of Magic.

2136014
Yes, only Twilight learned his allegiance to the unicorn supremacists' order who were against the alicorns. But she is still Archmagister, master in spellcasting, and has surely kept proof of her brother's links with said order as blackmail in case he tries anything. She's also smart, is the element of magic and was Celestia's personal student. I doubt much ponies of M&S would stand up to her.

Man, this really goes to show how BIG the universe and fanon characters have gotten.
At this rate this will resemble the Simpsons ensemble :D

ugh, I rather have personally Ice Pack or even Jappleack than Flash Sentry....I simply...no.

also..."she who mates with beasts?"....woah...kinky

Yay, now go make a tragic love story between Twilight and Flash Sentry in this set-up. :pinkiecrazy:

Please don't.
Better. Kill him off! :pinkiecrazy:

personal opinion: Nowadays romance-related stuff are nothing but crappy plot devices. Excuse for filler. Plain DUMB. They add nothing, unless pulled convincingly. /personal opinion.

I like how everybodies mourning the death of Dinky, yet nobody seems to care about Twist.
:twistnerd:
Alright, I know everybody's going to scream bloody murder; but I actually like the fact that a beloved character got the axe. Why? It gives the flood emotional weight-and gives you a real idea on just how bad the disaster really was.

2137393
... Heheheheh... Flash Sentry can't catch a break, can he? I mean, you kill him off in your comic, he ends up as Pony!Mussolini in some of my old stuff; and some like Kapachu and Man-Gell act like he never existed.
:rainbowlaugh:

2136368 Wasn't the Moon and Star society a secret, one way or another? Any dirt she had on him would only mean anything to ponies who knew about it, and it would still be the word of an Element of Harmony/religious figure against that of a Prince of Equestria married to the Alicorn of Love. It's not as if Twilight is in a whole other weight class. And even then, Twilight became the leader of the thing. I'd say there's more than enough dirt on her to sink her as well. Exposing the society's previous existence and ideology to the ponies in the public would do little to benefit either of them.

As to 'stand up to her', I severely doubt her magical brawn is enough of a deterrent to keep all ponies from going against her. Besides, it would not only be unrealistic for her to intimidate and force her way through every hurdle, it would be completely uninteresting. For example, I am one of the people hoping that the 'opening a gate to Tartarus' thing in Hoofington was a desperate bluff. We don't need Twilight to be that overpowered. Besides, if she could do that, why hasn't she already threatened to do that in all other nearby settlements? It certainly doesn't appear as if she tried that one again.

I'm not going against Twilight being the de facto leader of the House. I'm asking for how it came to be. She may be the puppeteer running the show, but so far I can only see the strings going to the Sun and Moon Guilds (and I can see how they got there only if I squint). This would be all fine and dandy for a pony in Canterlot's working class who believes that Shining Armor is their House's ruler, but since we're looking at it from the perspective of writers and readers I'd like an explanation for this setup that gives Twilight the position earned by her backstory instead of one given to her by her status as a main character.

Heck, even if it just so happens that most if not all of the power she wields is afforded to her through the Guilds and Arcanists, we may need to expand on their impact on Moon and Star society to understand just how controlling the Guilds equates to controlling the House. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but throughout history the person controlling the military tends to be the one holding most of a country's power, even if they don't outright lead. If Shining wanted to be the de facto leader, from what I've seen so far there's nothing impeding him. I doubt the soldiers are religious to the point of listening to a priest over their commanding officer.

2133309
Pipsqueak the Pirate... thank you sir! :moustache:

Also, this is amazing. This list clears up who, what, and where characters are in this universe.
The Cults' Prophets, magnifique!
Hierarchy of M&S, absolutely brilliant!
Positions and Divisions within Earthborn, gold baby!
Everfree... "The Lady of Orgies” :rainbowhuh: "She Who Mates with Beasts” :rainbowderp: you cheeky fellow! :rainbowwild:

2139863
I know right? He's Captain Pip now!

2141356
Slave Domes confirmed! Congrats!

2145302>>2146464
Da fuq

Wait a minute, how are thery "confirmed" if they have been there ever since I made the updated map for EqDiv? The only thing I've done here is establishing who governs which slave dome. You didn't come up with the idea of slave domes themselves, so please don't get ahead of yourself.:ajbemused:

2148530 I didn't say I came up with it? Just that their confirmed after debating about how they are managed. That is all, relax.

So Pipsqueak is a Pirate of some kind, harassing the great houses (and probably upstart Insurgencies and the Mob as well); with his crew which includes a expert Marksmare, a experienced sailor, and a wraith. Anybody else reminded less of Pirates of the Caribbean, and more of Firefly?

2134141>>2135518

I agree, making a character (especially a fan-elevated one so many people love) a slave and breaking them would be something interesting to observe. I had my own story of Bonra, which I was actually proud of, but I'd gladly throw Bon Bon into the pits in order to have the viewpoint of a slave.

Lyra and Bon Bon remained in land that would fall under the dominion of Earthborn after the flooding of Ponyville. The came the dehorning order. As horrifying as the revelation was, Lyra was able to convince herself that it was reasonable, just like with any abuse victim. Bon Bon was indecisive, fearing the life of a refugee in a time of civil war, and the forces of the other zealous factions. Lyra made the choice of turning herself in for the procedure on her own, and afterwords somehow made her way back to their home. Bon Bon was less horrified as she was stunned, being so unsure of what it was she wanted, and having the decision yanked away from her. Lyra no longer plays any music (whether you interpret ponies being able to play string instruments with hooves or not) and is mostly unresponsive, moving through the house during the day. Without the second source of income, Bon Bon now works into the night to feed them both.

2149106
Wait so that means he can pull big damn heroes! AWESOME!

2149106 2149106
If you change that ship into an airship then it definitely becomes Firefly. 2149106

I have updated some quotes in the RTS quotes' thread, regarding these new informations. Feel free to have a look and even add your own if you want to.

2149728 That's an idea. Airships exist in this setting, so it would not be impossible for him to get a hold of a small one. If he had one he would not be limited to coastal cities (well, he's not limited at the moment, but they would have to leave the ship behind and that just ruins the pirate shtick.)

2149393 Thanks for, more or less, agreeing

2149875
We have an RTS thread?!

2150266
I didn't mean to seem like I was trying to subvert you. My old story is null and void now that Lyra's story has been put up. I just thought I'd paste it for kicks.

2149991
It would allow him a lot more movement and at the same time have him visit other characters who act against the Houses more inland.
