Discord is the main antagonist of the story. He's intentionally portrayed as out of character, eluded to in the second chapter. He's murderous, violent - his chaos is crueller and he shows a hatred that he never showed.

I should note that all of this is intentional, and these two chapters will finally give an explanation as to the lightly foreshadowed reason for Discord's rather drastic differences.
