    Release Lull and Such

    Hey lovies, Thisguyhere... here :derpytongue2:
First and foremost, I apologize for the far longer than planned delay on the next Fuse chapter. We're well beyond the one per two weeks goal I set for myself. So yeah, sorry.

    Sooo... Been Working on Something

It’s another story. Now don’t worry; While I too am well aware of my track record, I have no intention of dropping Fuse. It’s actually become a -personal goal- to see the story through, even if I’m still not sure how long it’ll end up being. It won’t be one of those forever stories, but it’s shaping up to go for a good while yet…

    Expected delay

Hey everyone, I know my chapter releases can be a bit random but it might be a moment longer for the next. I've unfortunately been sick that past couple weeks and am still dealing with some of it, slowing progress significantly. All that now being mixed with the withdrawal of getting off my head meds isn't helping much either. :pinkiesick:

    Still in progress

Sorry again lovelies, I really don't mean to keep letting the momentum slide. Got sick for a week and then the first draft of the new chapter was just... very meh. So I started over and it's a little slow going but I'm getting there. Will do my best to get it out by the end of the weekend but can't promise.

Sooo... Been Working on Something · 9:19pm Sep 18th, 2022

I did, however, get bit by another inspiration bug. And unlike many of my other more fleeting brain storms, this one’s stuck. Stuck enough that five chapters worth of rough drafts are already written. So it’s not really a question of whether I should write it or not, as I very much already am, but… when to start publishing it?

Now I know I’ve tried writing more than one story at a time with… not great results. But each of those times, I had lost the passion or just direction for the previous story. I’m still very much into Fuse with a pretty good portion already laid out, let alone planned. I AM a little worried if I don’t divert just a little from it though, that I may get burnt out. I don’t see it happening soon but people rarely see burn out coming, if they expect it at all. SO I’ve spent some of my writing time on this other story to settle that bug bite and keep from oversaturating my motivation with just the one story.

Which brings us to my actual question for all you wonderful people reading my insane typings: Would you like to see this one as well? Even if it comes at the cost of a possibly slower schedule for Fuse?

I feel I’ve grown enough as a writer to maintain both without a drop in quality, but even I can’t claim it won’t slow the process at least a little. Again, I have already written around five chapters for the new story and I only started a little over a week ago, so the words are certainly flowing. And the latest chapter for Fuse was written during all that and still released within my goal of chapters not taking more than two weeks each. I know I don’t always meet that goal but I think I’ve been getting closer to maintaining it lately

Now to stop stalling on sharing the idea behind the story itself: It’s another Sunset crossover. The world she ends up falling into being that of ‘Vampire: The Masquerade’, and eventually, the greater ‘World of Darkness’ as well.

It’s a notably… Darker story than Fuse, if the name of the property weren’t enough to suggest that. The M rating and Dark tag will be very much earned with this one, not to mention the Sad tag. Not in the sense of pure misery or wanton violence and gore; Anyone familiar with the property will know it's still not without levity. There’s usually quite a bit in fact; it’s just a rather dark and twisted sense of humor is all. And it’s usually pretty self-aware about it too, but that doesn’t mean the grim realities and fucked up shit aren’t still there. A couple of the chapters I have planned I fully expect to warrant certain trigger warnings. It’ll still be MLP of course, but the second half of the equation… well, it is called World of Darkness.

There’s also the potential for a small bit of lewdness as well…

So yeah. Would you all prefer me to focus on Fuse as I simply keep working on this on the side until I publish it later? Or would you like a bit more quantity and variety of my writing, since I’m going to be writing it anyway? No matter how short and simple or long and complicated your opinion, I’d love for you to share it in a comment down below.

As a small taste of the story, as well as maybe a general vibe of it, I’ve actually put together a prototype of the story's possible cover image. It is both subject to change and subject to the possibility of no change, as I rather like how it turned out and may just go with it. The working title is ‘Caitiff: Crimson Tears’; A bit overtly edgy and angsty I know, but that’s kind of half the fun of VTM.

As always, Thanks for reading!

Big fan of WoD (classic and new), so you've got my interest.

one suggestion that might work is to do what you did for the first 5 chapters, slowly work on them when inspiration strikes and then only start releasing them when you have a good backlog so you can pop them out every once in a while without having to divide your attention to much.

well whatever you decide on i'll definitely read both, i at least know a bit about WoD witch is more than the nothing i knew about Parasite Eve when i started Fuse.

most important thing is to do what makes you feel comfortable i guess.

Hrm.. That's a tough one. This new story sounds very interesting and would love to read it, but juggling two stories at the same time sounds pretty difficult, no offence. I say keep most of your focus on Fuse and slowly write the other story till Fuse is nearly done and the end in sight while you work on this new story. You can spend time polishing up/working on this new story and then start pushing it out without much concern about burn-out. And with Fuse nearly done you won't have to worry about burn-out and can more easily transition over to this new one from Fuse.

So... having actually read a bit of this post now, as a mostly uninformed newbie to the World of Darkness, I mostly just hope if Sunset ends up as a Kindred, it is not as a Malkavian.

Also, I can bet you Applejack would hate Werewolves more than Vampires.

Will this World of Darkness crossover have a badass little vampire girl in it?
